2026 JD Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study Results

I said bring the Spark back as sub 20k. I know full well whenever they say sub 20k or sub 30k they really mean $19,995 or $29,780. I think with a car the size of the Spark it could be done for that price. The real question would anyone buy a subcompact anymore? Chevy could be lowest is Spark...

At least GM has brought back the bolt. For now who knows. I think the Spark should come back as a budget EV < 20k but I know I'm dreaming. Bet it could be a fast hot hatch as an EV. Be so much fun. If the Spark came back. I'd be first in line to buy one.

It was a big issue the coolant tanks leaking I did replace mine. Mine was originally my Fathers and he bought it in 2018 for 11k out the door. Brand new LS with the 5 speed manual for 11k! That's crazy cheap for a brand new car in the last 20 years. Anyhow Its still kicking and I bet it'll last...

I say it over and over Chevy Spark was one of GM's best entry level cars. It also never drops my phone. Coincidence? I think not!

I did never care for JD awards. I bought the car I wanted with little regard for reliability until recently.

2022 Corolla Cross HPL Premium Plus 0W-8 30,000 mile oil change interval - used oil analysis

Wow. It'd be nice to only have to change my oil 3 times per 100k. Or like 6 times for the time I own the car. But I will admit I'm a bit scared to run that high a OCI. Red

2022 Corolla Cross HPL Premium Plus 0W-8 30,000 mile oil change interval - used oil analysis

They were. But 30k OCI is still pretty wild. But then again I know that a friend of a friend has not changed his oil in 15k miles. Its some old Jeep it may be toast now. So this experiment is happening plenty in the wild. Red

My Corolla Cross sometimes will drop my phones bluetooth connection. I consider it a big problem. What if I'm using it to navigate? I'm not paying for Toyota's navigation. Every system needs to work well for a long time to be reliable. Red

Proper break in procedure for 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross Gas FWD

Changed the oil today at 888 miles. I put in Mobil 1 0w16 I didn't change the filter. Which now that I think about it means there's a little 0w8 left. Hopefully that's OK. The oil smelled very strongly of fuel. More than I'm used to. Though this is the first car I've owned with DI. And I hear DI...

I think I have some Blackstone return labels and bottles still. So if I can find em. I'll send 2 samples in. The 500 mile change and my 5000 mile change. Something to look at. Cars already at 410 miles. Gonna buy the oil tomorrow. And look for my sample containers. Red

That's a very good price. Good find on your part. But at $30 to ship it to me. That brings it up to the same as if I paid full price from my local dealer. I'll think about it. Red

I did look it up. TGMO 0w16 is a much more reasonable $50 for 6 quarts. Unlike the highway robbery that is TGMO 0w8 at nearly $100 for 6 quarts! I would consider it. But it there anywhere but the dealer you can get these oils? The nearest dealer with any in stock in 40 minutes away. Red

Thank you for the advice. I've unfortunately already blown past 100 miles. I'm at 350 now. I drive too far for work. But I was pretty nice to it in the first 100. So.... There is a manual mode to use I'll try it. And it is the gas model. Cheaper and still very good on gas. For the oil change...

That makes sense. Toyota has very specific requirements for there OEM oil. But the basic Mobil 1 at the local store probably will be very close. But I would wager though that its better than me throwing whatever store brand in there. And it'll get Toyota oil twice more in its life. Since I...

Your right Walmart does. Going to one place makes this simpler. Looks like at Walmart it'll be $35 per oil change. Still very respectable and that's with Mobil 1 0w16. Better price than I was expecting. My van was $80 per change. So this is a welcome change. With OEM parts no less! Red

I think Mobil 1 is a good balance in these category's. Its not super cheaply made like SuperTech. Although Supertech is my favorite brand of automotive fluid brand because of price. 0w8 depends almost entirely on the additive package to protect the engine. 0w16 less so. And in that case Mobil 1...

According to The Motor Oil Geek. Mobil 1 is the same as Toyota oil at a fraction the cost. And either way will be be plenty good for my car. But I've already decided Mobil 1 0w16 with OEM filters. Plus a break in change at 500 miles. Then 3k then 5k then normal schedule. Red

Ok guys im settled I'm gonna use Mobil 1 0w16. And nah this car gets way better than I would expect. 30mpg usually. But only 25mpg in the extreme cold still good. My little spark only pulls 35mpg on the highway otherwise only 30mpg. So for a car that weighs much more. Red
