What are you doing right now?

Gave our flowers and newly planted trees some extra water. Then, weeded the planters and sidewalk cracks. I'll shoot the weeks again on the sidewalk with some cleaning vinegar and water mix. Just not today, 106F in the forecast.

    Lets talk about new vehicles

I 100% agree. I took my 06 Lexus ES330 for its weekly drive. It was my dad's beach house car. He gave it to me with 16k, four years ago. It now has 17,500 miles. It runs like new, and no big infotainment crap. I use a $10 bluetooth adapter to stream my music though the OEM stereo. I would drive...

What are you eating right now?

Grilled a Porterhouse on the grill. My wife takes the tenderloin and bone, I get the strip. Corn on the cob from the local farmer stand. Green salad with walnuts and apple topped with Italian dressing. Neither one of us could finish. My appetite is probably 50% from 10 years ago.

Great investment! It'll probably go another 30 years.

I don't think I can go back to gas vehicle due to fuel costs

A used EV a couple of years old with a warranty seems like a steal. I should Turo a Model 3 for a day and see how it handles my driving needs. And see if my old man get off my lawn mentality can deal with the tech.

    New Washing Machine Recommendations

We've had our Speed Queen for 4 years now. Fortunately, the appliance store where I purchased it honored the Speed Queen warranty when the lid lock broke on the washer and the heating element broke on the dryer. They both happened within 6 weeks of each other. The Speed Queen does a good job...

    Brutal heat and humidity lately

We hit an all time high of 109F last week. But with very little humidity. I spent a summer and change in Kuwait back in 1997. I was stationed at Nellis AFB at the time and thought it couldn't be any worse than Vegas. I was wrong! The wet bulb exceeded 200f during the day for the entire summer...

Do you or have you owned a rusty vehicle?

In high school, a family friend sold me her rusty 76 Celica GT for $100. It ran great but after looking it over in auto shop, I decided to let it go. I cleaned the spark plugs and changed the oil. Sold it for $225. Saw it driving around for years.

Maytag French door refrigerator stopped making ice.

My Whirlpool stopped making ice just after the warranty expired. I bought one of those $79 ice machines on Amazon. It kind of makes ice, but mostly just makes a lot of noise. After a couple years I had enough I had the fridge ice maker fixed. Well worth the out of pocket for me. Sometimes...

Plans for when You get Old

I told my wife she can drop me off at the VA when I become too much to deal with.

    DM-V2 vs IcePeak tires

The DM-V2’s kinda take the fun out of winter driving. There is so much grip that it I really have to ham the inputs to get any instability in the snow. Winter tires are so good now that even the bargain winters like Arctic Claws work exceptional well. My only gripe is the lack of steering feel...

    Lets talk about new vehicles

I enjoy my 23 GX460 and 06 ES330. Both are dinosaurs but they are very reliable and well built. I really like the IS500 but not quite ready to get rid of my GX.

What are you working on today?

I will be doing the annual oil change on my 06 ES330. I drive it less than 1000 miles a year so it'll get some 5w30 with a Toyota oil filter.

    Lets talk about new vehicles

I sold my 21 CX-9 in less than a year because the center console severely intruded on my right leg space. Didn't notice it on the 30 minute test drive.

    Battery handheld air compressor

It’s a convenience for me. The plug in compressors work fine but I always seem to tripping over the power cord. I paid $50 for mine two years ago and still works great.

    Battery handheld air compressor

I've had a similar air compressor for a couple of years. For topping off tires that are a few PSI low, it works perfect. I have a larger compressor for bigger jobs. I carry the compressor in my truck and it takes up very little room in its carrying case.

You’ll never see $70 oil again.

    Need advice on Lawn

Just buy some lawn paint like they use on football fields in the late fall/winter. It will get the pesky HOA out of your life while the grass has time to grow.
