    Ford Ecoboost 2.3

Bringing this thread back, but the 25 is a completely new 2.3 in the explorer vs the 24 down. They implemented the new 2.3 in 24 for the mustang, I think 25 for the bronco but not 100%. I have had an explorer with the 2.3 in the following model years: 17, 21, 2025. The new 2.3 is a "MPC"...

These mod motors do have a nice intake growl when you step on them. Takes me back to my cvpi days.

Ended up doing all pads and rotors, a caliper bracket, all pins and sliders, rubber grease bushes, parking brake shoes and hardware. It will be a new car soon!

Got the rest, $30 back. 30qts for $150, doesn't seem too shabby. I'm curious to see if it cleans up my varnished Nissan 3.3. I'll have to start a thread and take progress pictures.

Waiting on the rebate now based off of your advice, they sent $20 already, hoping to cash in on the last $10.

I ended up with 30 quarts of 5-30 restore and protect @ $5 a quart. I feel a fairly good deal, and should be set for a few years. Either 5 changes in the Lincoln, or 3/2 between that and my 2004 Xterra.

I agree, however it's unknown what the interval chosen by the dealer (Toyota) was. I was concerned that it might be an extended drain, and also you never really know what's in there. It looked pretty good coming out, and I'm sure would have been fine regardless. I can't say I've ever bought a...

I was thinking as I dropped the pan that I should have gotten the drain plug pan to replace it with. If I do another pan drop, I will probably go that route.

Did a drain and fill on the trans, 4.5 qts mercon LV and a new motorcraft filter. Old fluid pretty dark but not burnt smelling. Not much dust on the magnet, but some. Was the first fluid change I imagine, still had the dipstick plug in the pan. Does anyone have a recommended cheap pump to...

30mpg not representative of normal operation, but never under 20 and 24 pretty achievable. That 30.0 was about 40 miles at about 55mph, flat.

Pending the trans filter and first drain and fill, as well as fresh 75-140 in the pumpkin. These cars aren't fast, but they're not terribly slow either. They have good midrange for most normal driving needs. Also no DI, intercooler, cylinder deactivation, etc...

I switched in the Valvoline Restore and Protect yesterday with an fl820s. Oil that came out looked pretty good, I'd say only a couple thousand miles on it. The car was last serviced at a dealership, and the next oil change wasn't due for about 3k miles per the sticker, filter on there was a...

I ordered 3 5qt jugs of Valvoline restore and protect 5w30 from wally at $30 jug, and two FL820sw filters. I'm not super hot on the current 820 quality But I know it's spec'd so I will use one until I have the emotional energy to research a different filter. Probably a car quest premium...

I ended up on an NT700VA. It doesn't have the fantastic motor of the ST and is quite slow for a bike, but doesn't cook you, is very quiet and comfortable at any speed it can achieve, and rock solid stable. It's a good touring bike for the rider who doesn't need a rocket.

Would that be the car quest premium 85372? I've always been a motorcraft guy, but liked them better when they were $3.50 and were painted nice. The new ones look way cheaper. I just picked one up for my '25 explorer - $13 from Ford!

Probably the best bike I ever had. I had two, loved them. Helibars and an RDL made for easy 300 mile tanks, no breaks necessary. 0 vibration and great thrust from 2-8k rpm. Great balance and superb low speed manners . A real shame Honda didn't do a very light update on that platform. I moved...

Thanks for all the input. I will succumb to my insanity and run 5w30 synthetic. I hadn't considered restore and protect, but if it gets the bitog seal of approval, maybe I'll run it for a couple 1 year changes, then switch to whatever the "better" flavor of the day synthetic is then. I'm...
