    Handheld blower recommendation

I also have an Echo PB-2620 and like it a lot. Yeah, intake on the left side but it has a guard which has kept clothing getting sucked in to minimum, to the point I rarely notice it....like maybe once in four or five uses...and even then not a major problem. I got it for $199 at my local small...

new stihl BG 86 owner here

I have a Stihl SH-85 blower which I purchased in April 2004 for homeowner use. It is hands down the most durable and best performing hand held blower I've ever used. My company has also purchased several BG-86s over the past few years for rental property maintenance, which is roughly the...

    New Techron small engine additive.....thoughts?

To update with some unscientific anecdotal observations, I do now feel that fresh fuel makes a much bigger difference than I used to think. I bought a Honda mower with the new GCV200 engine on 6-15-2019. My dealer filled it with fuel and the Honda 10w30 oil before I took it home, as he does for...

    New Techron small engine additive.....thoughts?

Thank you all for the replies. doitmyself, that Fuel Testers chart is interesting and informative. I also tend to agree the heat in Texas and in the south in general is hard on stored fuel, add in the humidity where I live and it makes things even worse. I'm running TruFuel pre-mix in my new...

    New Techron small engine additive.....thoughts?

My apologies if this newer product has been discussed before, I did a forum search and didn't find anything. Here is a link to the product's details. I know most of you think highly of the Techron additive, and due to your past remarks over the years and my own experiences buying cheap...

    Ford/ Navistar 7.3L/7,800/71,800/Motorcraft 15W40

Thank you for the very informative remarks, jmac. The first I heard of the positive effect of ULSD on TBN retention was this article which supports your comments http://www.etrucker.com/apps/news/article.asp?id=55112 However, after reading post after post of people freaking out over the...

    Ford/ Navistar 7.3L/7,800/71,800/Motorcraft 15W40

Another thing I meant to add...sorry for the extra post my edit function isn't working: - Wouldn't the ability of this oil at this OCI to properly operate the HEUI injectors be just as important as the wear metals and viscosity? At what point would the anti-foam additives start to deplete....is...

    Ford/ Navistar 7.3L/7,800/71,800/Motorcraft 15W40

Very nice report, very interesting also. Thanks for posting. Questions: - Was the oil CI-4, CI-4 plus, or CJ-4? If you don't know, could you tell us about when you purchased the Motorcraft in this sample, and from where? - How many months was the oil in the crankcase? I assume the long trip...

    Ford Diesel 6.0 Vs 6.4

From what I hear the later model 6.0s are faring "reasonably well" compared to the 03's and 04's. I'm not sure that's saying much, but some people I know are comfortable with theirs. The biggest changes on the 6.4 other than the DPF are the new Piezo-electric injectors and twin turbos. Are...

    FP60 article

I agree with the previous two comments that this "test" does not replicate real world application by any stretch. At the same time, however, it does give us tangible "relative" results between FP60 and another substance, in this case LC20...assuming both were undiluted. It would be more...

    FP60 article

Not sure what to think about the implications but those photos sure get an A+ on the eyeball test. I'm counting on FP Plus to help keep the injectors on my Cummins and PSD clean and helping me avoid expensive repairs. Or worse, a stuck injector filling my crankcase with fuel and....well, you...

    FP Plus

Does Lucas remove water from the fuel system? That's important to me on my diesel engines, and less important yet still desirable on my gasser. It was the deciding factor when I chose FP Plus over Lucas UCL. I agree Lucas availablilty is nice.

    FP3000

SyN, thanks...that not only helps "some", that helps a LOT. Ever since Bob's Lucas / foaming oil demonstration back in the day I've been gun shy of mixing lube oil additives with HEUI injectors. Your post gives me the confidence to do so. Still wonder if LC3000/Plus eventually affects the lube...

    FP3000

I have a question.... Why does FP3000 / Plus recommend using LC20 in conjunction with it, yet there is no similar recommendation when using FP60 (that I can see)? Does the former have a negative effect on motor oil TBN, thus the recommendation for LC20? Just curious. My 2 gallons of Plus...

First Oil Change on New F150 SuperCrew (4.6L)

That's because of fairly recent developments with M1 (speculation on formulation changes) and PP (relatively newer oil, UOA's coming in). Back in the day (circa 2002) there was plenty of talk about Motorcraft. A lot of that was due to the advent of 5w20 oils and that they wouldn't be "thick...

    Motorcraft (base stock) formulation change?

I've been following this thread since I first saw it. Sending it to the top for further discussion and observations. Any new developments with the "new" Motorcraft or discussion / speculation on its performance? Is its origin directly tied to the new Ford 7,500 mile recommended OCI's? Also...

Trying the new TropArtic 5w30 synblend

I've been keeping an eye out for the new TropArtic but so far all I've seen is old SJ and some SL bottles with dust on them. I like the way Conoco/Phillips is raising the bar with their new lineup and I intend to patronize them...I'll buy the Motorcraft if I have to but I like the idea of...

Ford 4.6 Oil Consumption with 5w20

I drive a 2003 F150 SuperCrew with a 4.6L. 26,400 total miles, uses 1/4 quart of Motorcraft 5w20 during a 4,900 to 5,000 mile OCI. This is more than acceptable to me.

    04 v6 4Runner

Thanks for the link, Buster. I've heard about the "easy change" filter arrangement...this should resonate with all of us do it yourselfers who don't have three service bays with hydraulic lifts There was a UOA posted on this engine a few months ago...
