4 year old Hankook tires dry rotted

Hankook tire. 4 years old. Every tire completely dry rotted. These came new on a 2022 Kia. I have classic cars with 20 year old tires. No dry rot at all. 18,000 miles on the car!! But it's not the mileage, it's 4 years and these tires are done, done, done.

Winter Tires for Severe Winter - Michelin X-Ice not Cutting it

I love when people compare new tires to old tires. or even new tires to 1/2 worn tires. It's such a waste of reading internet gibberish.

Original Fram Ultra XG10575 used oil filter cut open

Did you ever look in the bottom of a 1 qt oil container? Like Pennzoil or Mobil 1. There is sludge in the bottom of every 1. It's the additives or whatever they put in there separating out.

Does anyone buy from Tire Rack anymore? It doesn't seem worth it......

That argument doesn't hold water. Because now, I mount those 3 YO tires on my classic car. My classic car mostly sits in the garage. 6 years from now, those tires are 9 years old. 10 years from now, those tires are 13 years old. That's the difference between life and death.

Winter Tires for Severe Winter - Michelin X-Ice not Cutting it

I have the Michelin X ice, down to 4/32"s. Still worked great all winter. With 4/32's left. I'll run them out all summer and be done with them.

Does anyone buy from Tire Rack anymore? It doesn't seem worth it......

I had a skiff with TR. Sent me 2 year tires. Eventually after a 1 week long argument, they gave in with 50% refund. No one should sell tires more than 1 year old. That's the ethical limit. Legal limit ... there is none in the books, but ethics and reputation is 1 year.

    Tire's Easy

Over the years. I have learned Kumho's and Nokians are amazing tires. They have little market share in the USA, but amazing tires.

    Tire's Easy

I was on the tire's easy website last night. I never knew so many off-brands existed. It's crazy, but $150 less per tire than a name brand tire rack tire.

The Point of a Winter Tire is to Trap Snow?

I have pictures somewhere. My all-season tires were packed with snow. Literally no traction. AWD Escalade. 22" wheels, with 7/32's left. I couldn't get out of my driveway. So I take my Suburban with 4WD, with worn X-ice snow tires. 4/32's left. Drove right out. Much better...

    Fram FE10575 C&P

I think enough of us have to contact fram, and ask for specs. Only then they will reconsider to post their specs. I remember when they had the PSI rating, and the dimensions of each filter. They have very good response to their technical support line.

    2013 Escalade 6.2 oil filter

Fram did indeed take down all their technical specs. I asked their tech support line why, and the answer was about making life easier for the web page guys. If you use the long version, FE10575 vs the FE10060, Fram will not stand behind a warranty claim. Fram (sister company) makes...

    Fram FE10575 C&P

Fram will only stand behind their filters if it is the correct filter for the application. Your truck is probably spec-ed for FE10060. The shorter version. So if the longer filter explodes driving down the highway, Fram is not standing behind it. Also, Fram no longer lists their specs...

I'm running the Continental Terrain Contact H/T for about 2 months now. They have a pretty stiff ride. 70 series side wall. That's the only negative so far.

    Tire Rack -- Be careful

You must be a liberal. My money is my money. and how I use it is my discretion. oh, local shops order from TR too. They deliver next day. and it's NOT a collectable car. It's my wife's car, and she drives maybe 3000-4000 miles annually. So The tires age out before the tread...

    Tire Rack -- Be careful

I tried to explain various times. It matters on a low mileage car. If you're driving 5,000 miles annually, the tires will age out before the tread wears out. Very simple. If you drive 20,000 miles annually, then the tires are wearing out in 3 years, no matter what.

    Tire Rack -- Be careful

Saga is over. They "made me go away". 50% refund coming. It's a low volume tire, so there is no turnover in their warehouse. ok, but not my problem.
