Have you ever had a fuel issue from a gas station?

Yes, in a Yamaha FZ1; got gas in NC and shortly after leaving the station started having trouble maintaining engine speed unless I practically pinned it. Turned back towards town as I was headed into a very rural area and rev bombed it the whole way to keep going, passed the bad station and went...

First thoughts on the New F1 changes and broadcast.

Next you'll tell me being in a draft doesn't artificially make the car behind faster due to lower drag and they won't be in danger of being passed by someone in their draft at the next straight.

First thoughts on the New F1 changes and broadcast.

I'm aware it was pass and repass due to the new systems, but at least added to the action and adds a new dimension. I'll take that over an absurdly dominant engine passing everything in sight with nobody bothering to fight. Closely matched cars have been fighting for ways to make a pass stick...

looking for a zero turn or lawn tractor for my son

I've not checked but I seem to recall it being "lifetime" fluid so doubtful, when the time comes I'll either drop and flip, suction out, or tap a drain plug; haven't decided yet. Do be aware, the K46 are known to make a whining noise that is perfectly normal but alarming if you aren't...

looking for a zero turn or lawn tractor for my son

We have a 50" Cub Cadet XT1 with the 24hp Kohler and k46 transaxle. Only one season but so far I'm a fan, the 24hp twin makes me chuckle compared to the worn down and half rebuilt 19hp thumber it replaced in an old Aerins that finally died after a decade of abuse. Lots of slops in our yard and...

First thoughts on the New F1 changes and broadcast.

New tech will always lead to technical attrition during races (which does add to the spectacle and randomness) and most car guys love the absurdity of old school F1 or most petrol powered toys, but the lead teams have figured out how to use the tech and are putting on a decent show by bringing...

    MotoTote

Can't speak to the Taco but can speak as a MotoTote owner. I have one I bought for the exact purpose of carrying a dual sport places where riding there would just not be fun. I've since used it to carry my DR650 and this past week for 3 hours each way it carried my 14' 1290 Superduke R. The...

    2026 Jeep Recon

I see another Stellantis EV and this review of the EV charger and incident with a Jeep SUV immediately come to mind. A little surprisingly considering the rumors that manufacturers send out stuff that’s been gone through thoroughly for press vehicles to avoid embarrassment.

    Valvoline Restore and Protect

We did not, thankfully the oil pan didn’t leak until this mileage. The classic Schrodinger’s oil efficacy in that regard, maybe it helped and maybe it didn’t . But I also don’t make a claim of any change; just a visual condition and what preceded it.

    Valvoline Restore and Protect

Bottom end of my wife’s Mazda 3 2.5 on its 4th round of Restore and Protect with 148,690 miles.

    Valvoline 4T 10w40 6-pk Amazon

I’ve go the 20w50 flavor in my 14’ Superduke right now, bike seems to like it and the transmission feels smooth. Downside is the timing chain noise is more pronounced after the change over from running Castrol for years. Doubt it’s damaging, just how it sounds now but it draws my attention.

First time learning how to ride motorcycle

OP, you’re curious about motorcycles but don’t expand on why and where very much; do you want to roll up to bike nights with Molly Hatchet blaring? Head to the mountains and enjoy the feeling of setting up a corner and perfectly executing it? Have a fun run around to take to dinner on Fridays...

Interesting GM 2.7 Turbomax failure and tear down

Eric never claims to be an expert tech, his business is finding what is usable and selling it for a profit; he throws some comedic moments in for the audience as mentioned. I watch the channel a decent amount, not because I wait for a “who done it” moment of failure; more because I enjoy...

Any BITOGERs grow up in an era of this mentality

The football slant makes me think of the great one liner from John McKay when coaching the Bucs; when asked by a reporter “What do you think of your teams execution coach?”, his reply was “I’m in favor of it”. If we sugar coat now, that was coated in 20 grit sandpaper and ghost peppers.

    Apple IOS 26

I like the look, but a few gripes. In notes the cursor goes to the bottom of the screen but the page doesn’t scroll up; so you can’t see what you’re typing for errors. Not a fan of the block of space at the bottom of safari either. Not a huge fan of the picture library, I’ve defaulted to using...

What is responsible for making a GDI engine prone to sludge engine oil more than a port injected engine?

Since the Nissan 5.6 is mentioned in here, scoped mine today during an oil change; didn’t expect to see a coating of sludge but just the same since it was mentioned felt like taking a look. This is at 32,533 miles getting Mobil 1 Extended Performance 0w20 for a couple oil changes and then...

    iOS Maintenance Logging App

+1 on this, easy to use and on a common platform for most people. I do use Fuelly for mileage tracking

Looks like my Hummingbirds have vamoosed.

almost non stop feeding north of ATL lately, they’ve been hungry all summer but there does appear to be some new visitors showing up.

A shot of my speedo on the Autobahn today

Nissan gets some hate on BITOG but I’ve owned three with either a V6 (4.0 Frontier and 3.7L QX50) or a V8 (23’ Titan); and they’ve all been good engines that performed well for me. The 5.6 as you’ve noticed likes to pull and pull, nice and smooth while doing so.

    Wix 57055 C&P "Disappointment"

This, they never look great from above. I like to plug in my borescope with the side angle camera and check on mine before throwing them on. What looks possibly rough from above is normally not bad when you are perpendicular to the surface.
