A shot of my speedo on the Autobahn today

Nissan gets some hate on BITOG but I’ve owned three with either a V6 (4.0 Frontier and 3.7L QX50) or a V8 (23’ Titan); and they’ve all been good engines that performed well for me. The 5.6 as you’ve noticed likes to pull and pull, nice and smooth while doing so.

    Wix 57055 C&P "Disappointment"

This, they never look great from above. I like to plug in my borescope with the side angle camera and check on mine before throwing them on. What looks possibly rough from above is normally not bad when you are perpendicular to the surface.

New-ish Maytag washing machine from 2018 is already dead

This has been my experience with our Samsung front loader, bought around 2013 as a scratch and dent at Lowes after my local laundromat became too problematic. I've replaced the door seal twice and the counter weight once; it is making an intermittent squeak during washing now so I need to take...

2015 Mazda 3 Aftermarket Apple Car Play Unit Advice

Did this route for my wife's 18' 3 Touring, has worked perfectly for a number of years. Not sure if there are any differences for your 15' though.

2025 JD Power Initial Quality Study

You may be on the right track for the wrong reason, new tech the consumer can sometimes be the beta tester for the manufacturer; wonder if Infiniti with the extra bells and whistles has additional complexity that may run into functional issues. That push for improved performance with improved...

2025 JD Power Initial Quality Study

Interesting the disparity between brands that share a parts bin, Nissan and Infiniti being one example.

Cycling is good for the brain.

You ever come up on a slower rider and want to pull a Rossi by passing them in the gravel?

The is the epitome of a labor of love, mixed in with the call to dig into interesting projects. Glad it only took till page 2 for someone to mention Commander Cody

    Costco gas..Latest signage

It would be convoluted to address how additives help every single engine type. I don't see anyone saying how false the statement is that it will protect injectors on my antique with a carburetor. What if I used some of their gas to mix in a two stroke, how well would that clean my valves?

Costco: stores open for exec. tier 1 hr early, starting Jun 30

We had the same experience, we laugh when we get a lencrafters mailing at home; the pricing difference is absurd and I've never felt like my Costco glasses were less; quite the opposite. We've done the executive membership for years and the rebate has always paid for the membership and then...

    Parts store follies.

Reminds me of when I called Orileys, doing the valve cover gasket on my wife's 18' Mazda 3 and I needed a new rubber gasket for the oil control solenoid (RA had sent the wrong size). Despite having given the year, make, and model; the woman on the other end who sounded like she spends most of...

Cycling is good for the brain.

I've done the same but with running, always said there isn't much I can't solve with a good pair of shoes and a few miles. As I get older, cycling may have to fill in, plenty of experience there too but never the same level of zen for me.

Anyone else like the expandable ratchets?

I have one and like it, mine additionally rotates the handle to rotate the socket too; so along with instant leverage it can rotate a socket in a tight area that would not allow me much swing. Funny thing is it was a cheapo in a gift set and has yet to bend or show any signs of breaking.

    Suspension Service! Why?

Had on 06 FZ1, broken pavement on a construction area would pull the bike to the side; fresh fluid and it barely even registered. Ideal is a professional build as others have said, sent the rear shock for my 14' SDR off and got it sprung and valved for me and my riding. Went from squatting and...

    Dashcam...Solve or create problems?

I was in an accident once where two witnesses graciously stopped, when the deputy asked for my account and I provided it; the first thing he said was that matches the description of the witnesses. Case closed as I had been legal and well behaved. After said accident I was going around a blind...

    New tires for the R1200RT

I saw the PR4 and double checked the thread date to see if someone did some grave digging in the old threads. I’ve been behind an S1kr running the PR4 in a downpour and they were doing very well; could clearly see the siping doing its job. I’ve got in the 10’s of thousands of miles on the PR5...

    Societal addiction to phones

I think back to driving on the USF campus years back and seeing a guy on a skateboard with a broken arm staring intently at his phone while rolling obliviously in an active lane of traffic, immediately I said to myself "slow learner".

Is "Overlanding" a thing in your area yet?

Just part of the spectrum of comfort, less comfortable than a hotel and more comfortable than sleeping under the stars. I look at it and think, are they just paying thousands of dollars to not have to set up a tent on the ground? is this the entry level budget form of the behemoths from post 98...

    Whats so great about Jeeps?

My wife says they bought the brand because it is easy to spell Talking to a local near Zion with a Wrangler, he said they're like Legos for adults. When my sister bought a Wrangler I took a picture of everyone in front of it, instead of "cheese" I had them yell "WARRANTY CLAIM!". Not everyone...
