OK, just mowed for about 1 1/2 hours. Once done, the temp at the back top of the oil filter (near the grip stuff) was 225 degrees. As I suspected, the grip stuff temp was a little lower at 215 degrees. Closer to the engine was also about 215 degrees. This will be my baseline info so now I...

I'm at 53 hours right now. I am hoping I won't have to mess with the trans units, just want to get some hydro oil as a back up. The JD Turfgard is conventional oil and is more expensive than synthetic. Doesn't make sense other than they mark it up because they put their name on it.
