I stopped runining LiquiMoly for that thinning out issue, switched to Amsoil and at intervals oil doesn't smell like E85 as much as LM would.

Thanks for the tip I just got a 2019 RX 350 with 76k miles, did a Kirkland Synthetic 0w20 oil change since I just got it and was the cheapest I could find with a toyota filer from amazon.

What bmw you had running 300F? the 2011 328? Maybe those run like that but the Fxx series generation like 335, 340, etc do not last with a 300F lol

BMW's are known not to be so reliable with high oil temps long term or when being pushed so there's a fearmongering on the oil temps maybe not related to temp itself but maybe due to how the oils that most have used tend to lose their strength at high temps.

For us "tuned" modern bmw engines, the talk and mechanics suggest running a 5w40 for longevity of the motor/parts/seals/pistons/rings etc instead of running a 0w20 which tend to run hotter (better for MPG) as an example. A lot of ppl over the years in the community have turned from 260F oil...

Yes in my case, because the BMW in the inline six run cooler oil temps all the time even in cruising efficient mode. So when you're use to seeing your oil temps at 180-190F max then all of a sudden starts crossing the 215F mark, I had a bad history when my V8 TT 2018 BMW M5 use to run at 230...

I believe the previous owner or the cheaper 0w30 bmw oil didn't help either.

Since you abuse the car the right way, what is the coldest temp the oil runs at? Reason I ask is because when my oil temps start going above 215F its time to dump the oil in my experience In my BMW i can start going WOT after 150F but I don't like to see it above 220F after having some good...

I had bad experience with Pennzoil Euro 5w40 in my 2018 F90 M5, it also ran very hot back in 2019 maybe it was a bad batch or who knows. If it was me, I would prob run Amsoil Euro 5w40 FS (i ran this for 4yrs straight in my 2020 X4M with 750hp) Looks HPL Euro 5w40 is a good option as well.

Is the sale still going? Looking for 5w40 BMW LL-01 I've ran in my 2020 X4M with 33,000 miles only Amsoil Euro FS 5w40 for 4yrs before I sold it. In my current car G80 M3 i've ran BMW 0w30 then LiquiMoly Special-Tech 5w30, LM 5w40 and now local shop Repsol but not sure if its 5w30 or 5w40 just...
