    Tire shopping - 2015 Camry

Thanks, guys. For what it's worth, the Pirelli tires have been great. Tread still looks new. The mpg can't compete with my previous tires (Firestone Fuel Fighters) but those or obsolete. Overall, not bad at all.

    Tire shopping - 2015 Camry

That's what I thought! The service rep said they were asymmetrical. They look the same on both sides, just mirrored (tread pattern goes down on one side and up on the other).

    Tire shopping - 2015 Camry

Yeah, the representative on the phone said I can rotate them however I wanted. I asked her if there was a specific way they need to be mounted.. She said she was "pretty sure" I mount them however. Unsatisfied with that answer, I called back and the second rep said "they recommend" the last for...

    Tire shopping - 2015 Camry

Old thread I know.... I went with the Pirelli P4 Persist and they've been great (well, I did have to swap one out under warranty for radial pull issue). My question is this: Can they be mounted in any direction? It says online that they are non directional/ asymmetrical. There are no...

Truck won't stay started (suspected alternator)

This is great info, thanks! I'll check the TPS and ground connections next. So should I just unplug the TPS or remove it completely?

Truck won't stay started (suspected alternator)

No offense taken. I thought I hit all of the suggestions but I missed checking the grounds (I did fully charge the battery). I'll have to look up a video for my specific model truck because I don't know where to start. It's been over a month because I only have time to mess with it here and...

Truck won't stay started (suspected alternator)

Ok, I tried having the battery charger going while idling. I put some fresh gas in it. Exhaust doesn't seem clogged (started it on a cold day and saw normal condensation coming from the Tail pipe). Nothing helped. Gas light is on although I know there's at least a quarter tank... One time the...

Oh, I didn't think of that. What could I do to test this?

Truck won't stay started (suspected alternator)

Last night, a friend suggested looking at the MAF and the MAP sensors. Do these sound like possible culprits, given the symptoms? I can probably look up their location online but what's a good way to test them?

Truck won't stay started (suspected alternator)

Thanks. I'll have to find some diagrams and check it out. Is there a way to see if electricity is running through each ground by using a multimeter?

Truck won't stay started (suspected alternator)

Ok, I ran the test zzyzzx and sc maintenance suggested. I unhooked the air intake and when it started to conk out, I gave it a couple of quick shots of starting fluid. No change, really, aside from some popping noises... It definitely didn't bring it back to life or keep it running in any way...

Truck won't stay started (suspected alternator)

I did that once when this all started. It ran for about a minute then sputtered out. I know it's bad to do that so I only did it once. Several suggested I make sure the battery is fully charged... I had it on the charger since early this morning, I just looked and liquid was coming out of the...

That sounds like a good test, thank you.

Truck won't stay started (suspected alternator)

The no lights on dash thing was before I cleaned the cables. It doesn't do that now but yes, I'm going to start with a fresh battery.

That's what I'll do and see what happens from there.

Truck won't stay started (suspected alternator)

I'll have to look at the charger when I get home... All I know is it's old. It has a 10 amp slow charge option and a start/fast charge option (30 amps? Not sure). The truck is in good shape, the guy before me did scheduled maintenance on time and all that. It just sits there most of the time, I...

Truck won't stay started (suspected alternator)

Oh, man. Thanks for letting me know. I'll throw it back on this weekend for a lot longer and give it another try.

Truck won't stay started (suspected alternator)

It's an old, crappy charger but I had it on for 3-4 hours before I put it back in.

So would you just drop the tank and replace the "in-tank" assembly? If it is a Feul issue, where would you start?

Truck won't stay started (suspected alternator)

Sounds like a plan. From what it looks like online, the Feul filter is a part of the Feul pump assembly, which is located inside the feul tank. Which is just wonderful 😐
