    So during normal oil consumption it's consuming the minerals as well. While I have a damp spot at the rear of the engine I typically do 5k oil change intervals and never had to add oil in between. This engine has an oil level sensor on it and it turns on just shy of being a quart low.

    Help me understand how the makeup oil delutes the results please. I mean, when I drained the oil I can tell you there wasn't 11 quarts of it. It was short of 8 quarts actually so I'd think that since there was less than 8 quarts then the concentration would be higher than if it was at 8 quarts...

    driving habit is asfault at 70 mph mostly. The oil was only in the truck for about 4.5 months. I'm now running 5w30 as it's winter time. The truck has an 8 quart capacity. And I never added anything to the oil or fuel and ran the same filter for the whole 14,800 miles.
