My first 55 miles on new bike.

Nice bike! New bike day never gets old! After a few liter class bikes I decided to downsize. 15 FZ-07, 15 FJ-09, now 750 Nighthawk. Looks like it's not going to take. Going back up, probably a 14 CB1100 by next year. Just have to deal with the extra weight. I already know I only like retro...

Over here the most I have to deal with is about 1700 ft.

    Yamaha Seca 750, 1982 model

Thanks. What was the ambient at the time? When I did it, was 50F out. Yes, probably should have ran it longer, gave it a better chance. Per the chart, 10w-40 is good till 95F so no issue. Thought for sure the Seca was 4 valve. Yamaha even went for 5 valves for a moment around the same time.

    Suzuki DR200

I've been missing having a dual sport since the late 90's. Had two XR650L's and one KLX650C. Always good to have one around to play on. Still fighting the urge to get one again.

    2 stroke oil in a 4stroke engine's fuel

Yamalube Ring Free used to be much more powerful in the old days, though it's still good.

    2 stroke oil in a 4stroke engine's fuel

Correct, clearances. I disagree on the rings though. The oil ring scrapes and cleans the oil off the cylinder walls. Leaves the top compression rings almost devoid of oil.

    2 stroke oil in a 4stroke engine's fuel

I will add that both bikes are air cooled so looser tolerances than liquid cooled engines. Might be why it seals rings better. It works. 🤷

    2 stroke oil in a 4stroke engine's fuel

I found this post AFTER my own experiments with TCW3 2 stroke oil. This is on a 92 Honda 750 Nighthawk. So, no FI, no cat, etc. Just carbs and exhaust. Can't reccomend trying this with a cat or FI. Don't know, might be fine. BUT CAUSING A PREMATURE P0420 code is expensive! (Dead cat) Got the...

Coming home from vacation on the 2013 Goldwing. 640 miles in 11 hours.

Heck of a ride. Only in my youth. Millington, TN to Shokan, NY on an 83 650 Nighthawk. No idea how far it was. Not even a windshield on it. Still my best run. So long ago.

BOSCH premium 3312 new oil filter cut open

You'd think the whole Bosch lineup would be the same. I've got 3300 here and though I didn't disect it, looks way different inside with a flashlight. This is the recent change. Previous batch I got was different again. 🙄😡 Now GM PF64 filters are changing/ not available. Getting sick of this.

List when you found evidence that previous mechanic messed up

Bought a new 24 Chevy Trax. Got 1 complimentary oil change. I do almost all my own work on cars, motorcycles, etc. Wasn't going to use it, dealer is an hour away. It's free, so to the Chevy dealer I went. They overfilled the oil by more than a quart as near as I can figure. Its a known...

Predator 4000 watt generator 212cc not working after extended storage

Agreed. aquired a generator prior to my use of MIB. I removed the carb, cleaned, and now it's running. Keep in mind that in doing that, you'll be lucky if you don't at least need a new bowl gasket like I did. I'm convinced MIB would have worked. Would have been MUCH easier too, I swear they put...

Predator 4000 watt generator 212cc not working after extended storage

For me, it seems to work best at rejuvenating hard diaphragms in 2 stroke carbs. Has rubber conditioners in it as well. Good for the rubber tip of the needle valve.

    Oil Weight Question

I really don't know what I'd do if I bought a new Honda. So used to these charts for Hondas.

Predator 4000 watt generator 212cc not working after extended storage

Mechanic in a Bottle really works. For $8 at Wally World what have you got to lose? Brought 2 of my old 2 strokes back to life this year. Remove all old gas, pour it in straight, let it sit 4 hours to overnight, drain it all out, won't run on MIB, fresh gas, and it'll start.

Mechanic In A Bottle, TRULY Helped my old Harley!

Today was my 30 some years old Homelite chainsaws turn. Ran last year, weak, didn't rev well, didn't like being angled for tree dropping. Wouldn't start today. Added the recommended amount Of MIB, primed it through, pulled rope a few times and let it sit for 4 hours. Tried starting it, took...
