Did these vehicles have extended idle time? I believe I read that extended idling was a cause in this delamination problem.

Well I haven't owned it for a year but I'm going to say 5000 miles a year and in a few yrs when traveling some more hopefully 10kper yr.

This one is the 7.3 gasser V8 if that makes a difference.

As suggested, do a run with the MC 5w30 and sample at say 3000 miles? I have a Fumoto valve to install upon oil change so easy to grab a sample.

Was looking at an oil report on here from a 7.3 Godzilla using Mobil 1 5w40 on repeated runs. I like how his numbers continued to improve. Easy to purchase, 1 gallon jugs so buy 2 and a filter.

I'm also a Washingtonian, so the mnt passes of I90 through Washington, Idaho and Montana as well as trips west over the Coastal mnts. Probably around 10k miles per yr.

What would be your recommendation be for a higher viscosity oil in this application? while I'm not opposed, I don't know enough to make a decision as to how important staying with a SN+ or similar API rating. The manual only lists the WSS-M2C-961-A1 rating

Would the Amsoil Diesel DHD 5w30 possibly be a good oil for the 7.3 gas? I'm wondering about it for the 7.3 gasser in my 2023 Motorhome. I'm at 28500 lbs fully loaded pulling my Canyon, you can tell it's working hard on steep grades. I'm wondering if the engine might benefit from this heavier...

I only have the factory trans temp guage which remains in the safe zone. No real numbers like the Autometers give in my F350 auto meter

Not sure what you're asking but the driveline is rated for a GCVW 30,000 and I'm typically 15-1700 lbs under that.

I'm definitely not first. I get passed and wonder how hard are these guys pushing their engines. As I stated I maintain in the power band and let it kick down as needed. I try not to bury my foot, I'd rather use my gearing to run the engine in it's sweet spot.

On the free way I run about 60-65 mph and the engine is below 3k in this scenario, on the the grades, depending on steepness it'll begin kicking down as needed and I use foot english to maintain right around 4000 rpm. Some grades like on interstate 90 these passes will have me down to 3rd or...
