    AMPCO Oiler and Running Lean?

Disclaimer: I am not asking for your opinion on the use of an Ampco oiler in a modern vehicle, and any such posts will be ignored. I've been using an Ampco (Marvel Mystery Oil) Oiler for it's claimed benefits: "provides critical valve to seat lubrication, which is now absent from gasoline, and...

Anyone seen a full-length DIY ramp setup like this before? Though I guess you could do the same thing with 2 sets of properly placed rhino ramps.

2013 Ford Escape SE 2.0 AWD

Hello All, Give credit where credit is due, right? Well, I just drove a 2013 Ford Escape SE 2.0 (EcoBoost) AWD rental for a week and I have to say: I'm impressed. NVH, handling, fuel economy, Sync (seamless BT streaming of my podcasts, GPS, and interaction with Siri), and most of all: power...

How to plumb preluber with bypass filter?

Hi Guys, I seem to recall reading a post (asked/answered) about how to plumb a preluber with a bypass oil filter setup (not talking about the combined Amsoil setup, but components installed separately). I searched for it quite a bit last night and cannot seem to locate the post, however. I've...

Hi everyone, I'm looking for oil recommendations for a '63 Dodge 318 motor- this is apparently a heavy-duty version and it's in a Travco RV. 89 Corolla Auto Trans Shifter Problem

Hi everyone, The auto trans shifter on my 89 Corolla Alltrac Wagon works and locks into the proper gear when I press and release the shifter button and move the shifter to select a gear. The problem is that there is very little tension against moving the shifter (it just moves loosely), and it...

Recall Alert: 2003-2007 Lexus LX 470

Recall: 2003-2007 Lexus LX 470 Surprising to see this type of problem on this vehicle, which is a twin of Toyota's toughest truck, the Landcruiser. "Significant impact to the wheels" (off-road driving) is exactly what this vehicle was designed for, even if most Lexus-buyers never use it. Also...

    Toyota "Type T" Question

I have a 1989 Toyota Corolla Alltrac. The manual specifies "Toyota Type T" ATF for the tranny. I'm thinking of using Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF (Multi-Vehicle Formula) which says it is compatible with "Toyota Type T-IV and Type T-V". Will this work for my vehicle, which specifies "Toyota Type T"?

Coolant Filter Mount- Upside Down OK?

I am trying to mount a cooling filter- this model: http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=443 On my vehicle, the only open spot will place the filter too close to the exhaust manifold, so I am planning to mount it upside down, so that the head and filter are upside down...

    M1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40

I haven't seen much in the way of comments on Mobil 1 TDT 5W-40 (AKA TSUV AKA Delvac) and its use in gas engines.
