    I have had a Frantz on my 2005 Dodge Cummins since new. 5000 mile oil change interval and 2500 mile filter change. UOA are boring as stated earlier. Good stuff in my opinion. Ed B

    Are Diesels Really "Oil Burners"?

    The 15k OCI sounds reasonable. When I bought my 2006 Mercedes E320 CDI it came with a suggested 13K OCI. It has an 8 quart oil capacity and a fleece oil filter. The BMW probably is equipped with a fleece filter as well. I did several UOAs and they came up fine. Good luck with it! Ed B

    06 dakota 3.7L tick with M1

    I switched the wife's 2005 3.7l Dakota to Red Line 10w30 at 10k miles. We run 10K mile OCI with a 5k filter change. No problems have surfaced. Ed B

    Also, I run Rotella T 15W40 in the truck. If you do decided to run synthetic oil wait until you have 20k miles to do it. Ed B

    The general consensus on the Dodge Cummins boards is to do the first oil change around 1000 miles. I have a 2005 CTD and the oil does get black real quick. I installed a Frantz Bypass Filter and it cleaned the oil right up.
