    Fumoto valves

I have had one on my 2006 Accord since my first OC.. 330,000 miles later, still there. I used to change my oil every 4-6 weeks and was worried the the plug would eventually strip. Never leaked.. Already ordered on for my new car.

    synthetic or dino

I really don't know anything about oils so, Why try a 0w-20? The recommended oil is 5w-20. Will the 0w-20 provide the same protection?

At the risk of opening a can of worms...My question is not which is better, but which is better for my situation. I have a 2006 Honda Accord 4cyl auto. I live in So. California and drive approx 140 miles a day. The morning commute is an easy drive 70mph plus. The drive home is more like 1/2...

    OCI for 2006 4cyl Accord

The OLM does seem to hit the 10-15% at around 5k-7k. That is why I have stayed at the 5k interval. Next oil change I will send it in for a UOA.

    OCI for 2006 4cyl Accord

Maybe "insurance" is not the right word. My thought is that if Honda is recommending you change the oil every 10k that means that the oil has met it's life expectancy and or has sufficient levels of containments to be a concern. That being said why wouldn't you spend $5 on the item that filters...

    OCI for 2006 4cyl Accord

I know Honda recommends 10k w/ conventional & filter @ 20K. I just can't see going that long on the oil even though I know the oil can handle it. What I really don't get is the 20K filter change. For $5.00 seems like cheap insurance to do it at each oil change

    OCI for 2006 4cyl Accord

I have a 2006 4cyl accord that I drive approx 800 miles per week. I currently change the oil & filter every 5000 (about 6 weeks) with Mobil 1 (5-20) & Honda filter. The car has about 85,000 and uses about 1/2 quart per oil change. My question is: Would I be off using a good dino oil and change...

    Oil seems very BLACK

I will first say that I know color doesn't necessarily mean that the oil is too dirty, however... I have a 06 Honda Accord LX 4cyl auto trans (calif version) with 80,000. I change the oil with Mobil 1 with a Honda filter every 5,000 miles. I have done this since the car was new. Lately I have...

need to switch to HM oil??????

I have a 2006 Accord 4cyl AT. I have used Mobil 1 since my first oil change. I change the oil and filter every 5,000 miles. The car now has 75,000 miles on it. Everything seems to be running fine but should I start to think about using a High Mileage oil?

Oil Additives = Snake Oil ??

I am sure most of you may have read this ar seen something like it, but it made for some interesting reading about oil additives. http://www.thegsresources.com/garage/gs_additive.htm

    Mobil 1 5-20w for summer

I would be very interested in seeing that UOA assuming you don't use after market additives. I hope you will post it in the UOA Forum here. I have already emailed for the test kit. I do not use additives nor, at this time, is it necessary to top off between changes. I plan on having a TBN...

Sounds just like my routine. A little overkill I know but it makes me comfortable

    Mobil 1 5-20w for summer

Yes it does have a OLM. I dont trust it. Mainly because I don't understand it and doubt it takes ACTUAL driving & conditions in consideration. Yes I know it is overkill. Just to clarify- I change the oil & filter every 5000 or so. I "can't" change the oil every 10k & filter every 20k. I would...

    Mobil 1 5-20w for summer

This is my first post to this site, altough I have enjoyed it for several months, so be easy on me I own a 06 Honda accord 4cyl. Honda recommends 5-20w so I have chosen Mobil 1 5-20 as my oil. I drive alot, about 150 miles per day. I change the oil & filter every 6-8 weeks or 5000 miles. I...
