It’s about the oil as much as the usage. An unsuitable oil would not perform well under any usage pattern.

This engine never required makeup oil in any of the OCIs and never was below full when changed.

It does seem to hold up really well, which is good because it’s not cheap! Best deal I could find was Valvoline at about $8/qt delivered.
