    C40GT in non GT cars

I agree, but my GT3 is under warranty, and I have to run the C40 GT. I like keeping 1 oil in inventory. Ironic thing is my wife had a GMC Terrain Diesel and it ran Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w40. I remember at the time it was a big hard to find, but once Walmart got it, it was easy.

    C40GT in non GT cars

That's kind of my thought. S55 is pretty robust, only unique thing is the spray coated cylinder bore liners, and I don't think the cams are DLC coated in the S55. C40 should be just fine for it.

    C40GT in non GT cars

Adding to this. New car has C40 GT, and I will have to run C40 GT for the next few years for warranty sake. To keep things easy and clean, any reason I can't run this in my S55 BMW, use case yearly oil changes, less than 3000 miles?

    Graphene coating

I tried the majoirty of the newer ceramic coatings (including Adams Graphene spray, and Advanced Ceramic Coating). Their graphene coatings are fine. They are suppose to help with water spotting. My current favorite coating is Armor Detail Supply. Easy to use, and works great.

    New Mobil 1 C40 GT 0W-40

Said before, but Porsche oil recomendations are suspect. When they came out with C40 GT and said it should used on all 991 generation GT 911s and newer. Previously they said C40 oils used in A40 spec'd cars (911.1 GTs) should not be used, and in certain language would void warranty. That...

idocars Teardown of failed Toyota V35A TT with 39k miles

Generally you run a study to understand your process capability, and from there you sample pieces as part of a control plan. Meaning generally not all parts are checked. Depending how critical the characteristic is you maybe required to have higher process capability, or 100% measurement, though...

    LSJR Boutique vs OTS shootout

Great video, happy with my oil selections. :) Agree Liquid Molygen did not put up a good results. Shears like crazy even in an engine that doesn't have that many moving parts.

GM engine families V8 and 4 cylinder. Can't comment on micron change (Since that's company info), but it's in the range of ~40% norminal reduction in clearances between specific generations (last 10 years we will call it). It can range too, because previous generations did not have select fit...

I am sure they are doing sample sediment checks on their blocks. However, the "rogue" chip that is waiting in the main oil feed waiting to dislodge. When machining tools gets dull / wear the chips they make will change and in certain instances when they leave the tool are in a compressed state...

Chevrolet Blazer EV vs. Cadillac LYRIQ

Thanks for the review, and purchase. I work/have worked on the battery cells, module, and pack in both vehicles. Your battery cells were made where I currently work. Always cool to see customers enjoying a product you work on.

As someone who worked on PWTA / Sprayed liner development, the gain/loss in mass/friction/complexity/wear ability are not worth the marginal gains in very specific conditions. I actually worked with the gentleman that developed the spray liner for the hurricane engine. N55 was sleeved and open...

Free lifetime oil change. FCP Euro.

I purchase Driven Di40 from them. Just returned 8 quarters. Honestly a big fan of LRG with FCP euro. I will say lately there prices on OEM pure parts have come much closer to some of the best online OEM shops. Its also nice that they have great pics and descrptions of parts.

It's $50 at FCP euro. Which is quite insane. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/porsche-engine-oil-0w-40-1-liter-genuine-porsche-v04015009f Ok, $48 for black friday.

    Porsche C40 / VW511 00 Oil requirement.

In my applications it helps push my engine operating regime to the right in the stribeck curve. Granted the majority of my wear concerns are in the boundary operating regime (cams in the M176). Likwise, without a super high viscocity, but high HTHS oil, keeps my plastic S55 oil pump happy. :)

    Porsche C40 / VW511 00 Oil requirement.

HTHS is higher (4.3 vs 3.8), and it starts at a higher visc than those which was important to me. Has MPAO too. Plus it's at FCP Euro, which allows me to change the oil on 2 cars for free essentially. C40 GT is now as well, but it's $50/qt! We shall see how shear stable Drive di40 it is in the...
