2011 Camry Drain Plug too tight! Dang you Toyota.

On my son's GTI, the oil drain had a similar plug which stripped out. We used some Knipex Cobra pliers around the circumference to break it loose, given the low torque on it.

Finally decided to get a cordless ratchet. This seemed like a good deal (it was $20 cheaper a couple of days ago when I purchased) and is my first foray into Milwaukee tools.

    Oilpan Drainplug Removal Tool

The Motivx funnel is great. I have the bottoms to fit the Toyota threaded, Honda/Nissan threaded, and an adapter for the Toyota half-turn (stupid Sienna had to be different). That covers all 9 vehicles in our family. Well, except for the Honda Fit that put the oil fill so close to the...

    Oilpan Drainplug Removal Tool

On my Tundra, I use a 5 gal bucket rather than a standard catch pan. The extra height avoids the sideways spray onto the passenger tire when the drain plug is removed (Tundra owners know about this) and helps to avoid the wind scenario above. That doesn't keep me from continuing to look at...

I just ordered one of those Etenwolf tire pressure gauges that were discussed a while back. It's $3.99 on Amazon at the moment (with 50% off coupon). I figured it's worth a try after using one of my pencil gauges last night on my son's spare tire and finding that the tire goes to 60 psi but the...

    Appliance Parts

PartsDr has been by far the cheapest and also the fastest shipping of any appliance parts place I've dealt with. I've ordered parts for older Maytag washer and dryer and Jenn Air stove.

Received an Astro Nano long ratchet and their 6mm-19mm socket set from JB Tools. Now I just need a reason to use them.

HummingBIRDS are finally back. Not any other kind of hummer. Sheesh.

Ours stay all winter. When we refill the feeder when it's cold, sometimes they'll fly up and drink while it's still in my hand.

Icon 8 piece snap ring pliers set for $50 during the "parking lot" sale at HF. Not sure if I'll need them for a wheel bearing change this weekend, but if the Channellock 907 prove too small, I'll break the set open.

25% off Toyota Genuine Parts - Serra Toyota 3/1-3/15

The key to these deals is to be able to order at least $75 (after discounts) to get free shipping. Otherwise, as you found out, the shipping will kill you. It's relatively easy for me to do, as I have 5 Toyotas to maintain.

Ratcheting Wrenches - which styles do you use?

I got some Tektons when they were clearing out the 6pt ones a while back. Someone on here mentioned they don't buy the combination wrenches since they rarely use the open ends. I went "aha!" and realized it made more sense to get the ones with both closed ends and different sizes, which also...

You gotta get one of those spark plug sockets with the extension

I have these, but still use the GW one. The Kokens grip a little more tightly than I prefer.

This is the one I got. It's fallen under the "tools I've bought but never use" list, since I bought it after I garfed up my axle threads.

Rock Auto - new hose with damage, now what ?

They'll make it good, I suspect. I had a radiator delivered with dents in some of the fins and they replaced it without even requiring a return. They requested pics and I had a replacement in a couple of days.

I have this Vessel that I like (it has lots of tips with it).

Intel brings back workers’ free coffee, seeking to stem morale decline

It was management, for sure. Like the decision to *not* get into chips for phones back before everyone had 1 (or 3) and replaced them every couple of years. They were a great place to work from a compensation perspective back in the late 90s and early 2000s, but not so much since then.
