Anyone notice from watching that famous British TV show that some European cars flash their lamps, apparently, when the stability control is triggered?
Get this, the FRENCH pointy head bureaucrats haave banned the sale of certain Mercedes automobiles in France because they contain "that potent environmental poison" R 134a in their AC units. Gee, I thought R 134a replaced "that potent environmental poison" R 12. We know "environmentalists" hate...
Interesting article in Air & Space Magazine this month on the plight of general aviation as it relates to the EPA's determination to outlaw the last leaded fuel supplies. The planet will be saved, of course, and the bureaucrats jobs secure.
The "EPA" in its' bureaucratic wisdom, is lowering the permitted sulfur in pump gas. Probably a good think, but cost estimate is near a10 cents a gallon increase. Question is, has a certain part of the "transportation lobby" succeeded in exempting diesel from this?
I'd love to see Richard Rawlings and Aron Kaufman from Gas Monkey take over that pathetic copy of the BBC Top Gear made in the US. Get rid of the dweebs!
Got a Toyota, the manual for which clearly states "no more than 10% alcohol" in the fuel. Have we learned something since it was printed or do the beauties pushing this stuff just not care about those of us who keep their cars for a while?
Watched a "Modern Marvels" about grease. Lucas "Red and Tacky" looks like the same stuff supplied to the Navy for use on arrester cables on aircraft carriers. Could it be a "repackage"? Looks like the Navy buys a lot of th estuff.
I was recently given a sample of Prestone High Protection Wax to test. "EZ Off synthetic formula". Works very well. Really put a shine on my plastic headlamps for example. Got itfrom a friend who runs Nitrosport Marketing Services. IM me if you are interested. Very easy to remove excess wax.
