I have a 2008 Civic with the 1.8L engine. I’m currently running Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30 in it. The car runs fine. I live in east central Florida.

Do you mean Mobil 1 15W-50? As far as I know Mobil 1 20W-50 is V-Twin oil only sold in 1 qt containers.

I don’t know that anyone has figured out the date code except that the first two numbers are the year of manufacture.

Is there a difference in the date codes and COO?

Since you’re limiting it to Walmart 5W-30 oil and filters, I suggest either Valvoline Restore and Protect or Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and a Mobil 1 oil filter.
