Big Ford EV Announcement Coming Aug 11th

I expect a large part of the announcement to involve a Ranchero small truck, Slate-like. Nebulous images of new battery technology that can help create mass produced, cheap EVs is appearing in my crystal ball.

Chevy and Cadillac essentially have no new EVs planned

On the expressway this morning, I saw a Black Colorado with a pop up camper shell. It looks like a nice minimalist set up for overlanding + daily driving. I see GM as going lean on their EV offerings, with at least Equinox EV remaining in play. These big truck EVs that bleed the bottom line IDK.

Working near a Qualcomm campus in San Diego this week- very unique looks/ culture

When I go home to San Diego, I am sure to wear non-matching Nike water shoes with my wool slacks and pima cotton henley. Yes they were staring at you, @GON . Cabrillo National Monument is highly recommended.

The American EV Has Been Crushed. Will It Take the US Auto Industry With It?

@Hohn I met Uncle Milton once. Was serving him a subpoena as an expert witness. Hoover Institute. Stanford University. Nicest, most humble man I have ever met. Offered to buy him lunch... FWIW I am a nuclear fan. Free energy. So long as you are not stupid about protocols.

    EVs on Long Road Trips

There are apps that help with range anxiety. They provide best possible information to help drivers avoid getting stranded. Battery technology is advancing at warp speed. My new 2027 Chevy Bolt is tied into Tesla. Preconditioning and heads ups on charging stop needs are built into the factory...

The American EV Has Been Crushed. Will It Take the US Auto Industry With It?

In 1915, Cadillac gave us the first mass production V8, the Type 51/L head V8. Associated advertising executive Theodore F. MacManus published the iconic essay "The Penalty of Leadership." Innovators can expect temporary backlash and imitators. Flash forward and Tesla did the heavy lifting...

The American EV Has Been Crushed. Will It Take the US Auto Industry With It?

There are droves of Tesla's out here, many with anti-Elon bumper stickers. Status is king in Silicon Valley. I have seen Ferrari Luce's. There are also many Ford Raptor's. :)

The American EV Has Been Crushed. Will It Take the US Auto Industry With It?

There is definitely science to recharging strategies. It helps that GM now has "Ultium." The Lithium Iron Phosphate battery is durable, flexible and fast charging. There are Tesla Superchargers everywhere in the SF Bay Area.

The American EV Has Been Crushed. Will It Take the US Auto Industry With It?

My vehicle is THE tool for my job. My new 2027 Chevy Bolt LT and my previous 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid both fit perfectly for me. I fully expect it all to come out in the wash. BYD fear is minimal here. Toyota claims Japanese auto companies must cooperate to compete with China. One is...

Q7 CREC Engine Oil Consumption : Fixed with HPL

Be glad your vehicle survived the period of high detergency with these short OCIs. Mid OCI oil filter change outs are typically recommended. You should now be able to greatly extend your OCIs.

Any word if HPL is going to have their 4th of July sale this year?

Right on. The idea is foreign to me to be dependent on generous sale prices on our nation's 250th anniversary or any other occasion. This poster will gladly pay for product and shipping for such highest quality automotive fluids, sold by such highest quality people.

How do you charge at home?

I have found it to be pretty simple, albeit with a little unfamiliar basic math. My vehicle breaks down to a range of ~ 262 miles on ~ 64 kwh. That adds up to a goal of about 4.5 miles per kwh. My previous Corolla Cross Hybrid got 42 mpg with best gas prices in my area currently at $4.75 per...

2000 Silverado here. 4.8L pushrod V8. VWB 5W30. 5K mile OCIs. Never burned a drop of oil and I drove it hard. Transmission gave out at 300k miles. I did 50k mile Jiffy Lube flushes via ATF line to radiator on that BTW.
