Vehicle Sighting - 1970 Chev El Camino

I can't read the air filter lid. If its a factory 4bbl its a 300hp 350. 10.25-1 compression and good flowing heads for the day. A performance cam and headers would really wake that engine up. Unfortunately it most likely has 2.73 gears in the rear end which limits its acceleration.

Funny car story from my youth.

Thats me on the right. The red 340 duster with 340 call outs is behind me and my 69 chevelle is in the back ground. The chevelle had a real 1967 302 chevy engine in it that I stuck a 2bbl onto and it had a 3 on the tree.

Funny car story from my youth.

Around 1992 I was working for an independent Goodyear service center. I mentioned in the past that anything we mechanics did regarding tires was free. We did not get paid for mounting, balancing, repairs or rotations. I was 23 and I was driving a1973, 340 duster that I had souped up. That...

79 Ford Bronco 400 - recommend an oil to avoid another spun bearing!

While those engines were not known for power and were smogdogs the bottom ends were generally ok. Having a low milage one throw a rod is very uncommon.

Recommended a motorcycle oil to help with notchy shifting .

Quite a few miles from me. I'm the 2nd owner. The original purchaser bought it. Went to the sand dunes, was riding to the bathrooms1/4 mile away, crashed 1/2 way there and never got back on it. It's always gave me trouble shifting.

    Counterfeit autolite spark plugs

Another batch of plugs I believe to be counterfeit. They were a smoking deal so I took the chance. Never seen autolite plugs in a white box.

    Counterfeit NGK spark plugs

Bought 6 of these for my jeep a few years ago before we knew how bad counterfeiting was. Watched a video on how to identify fakes. These plugs fail most of the ways to identify fakes. The first tip off is that there is no shadow of the plug on the box. Gets worse from there. I believe I got...
