Update: Consumer Reports recently tested a few more sizes of Weize brand AGM batteries and at least in 24F, 35 and H6/Group 48, they did quite well. Avoid it in H7/Group 94R which was the size they tested a couple years ago. Seems like almost every brand had one or two sizes that did poorly...

My BMW has two batteries, a starter battery H9 in the trunk and an aux battery H5 in the engine compartment. Both are AGM. Both are 8 years old in May...still test fine. I don't think any battery likes heat.

Not in my experience. I have put AGMs in about a dozen cars, as old as 1978 up to 2020 that all came with flooded batteries...no issues at all. But if someone prefers a flooded, more power to them. Some of my cars the battery access is very difficult to impossible to check electrolyte levels...

Same with me...and I also test my batteries at least a couple times per year, as it only takes a minute or two to pop the hood and attach the clamps. Got 14 years out of the battery in my Tundra. That saved me several replacements.

Depends on the dealership/manufacturer. I've never seen a Toyota dealership using a battery tender in the showroom, but see it often at BMW, Porsche or Ferrari.

Weize brand AGM did not do well in Consumer Reports testing a couple years ago. A couple users here bought them last winter...so the jury is still out on them.
