    I buy filters by the case, but only keep oil on hand for one or two changes per vehicle. I can't buy Mann or Mahle filters at WalMart, and they're overpriced on Amazon.

    Let's assume your car takes a full 10 quarts of oil that went up a full $10/jug and that despite having such a huge oil volume you run short 5k mile OCIs. That $20 increase per oil change works out to a huuuge $0.004/mile increase. Meanwhile if you're getting 30MPG, which is probably optimistic...
