The light just went off. I was using a vice grip on the silver collar and attempting to turn the entire black knob. I only need to secure the bottom portion of that knob and turn to small top. You have no idea how stupid I feel right now, lol. Thanks DNewton!

Greetings! My sanity is on the line here (what's left of it). The engine is a Kohler KT-725 on a Cub Cadet XT-1 Riding Mower. In the attached photograph you will see the Oil Drain hose. I can not get that top off to save my life. It turns, but apparently is not threaded. It will not pull off...
