It’s a great video. Amsoil comes out on top but lake was very impressed at ultra platinum being an all around performer. Never the best but usually top 3/4 in every category I’d like to see it with esp in the mix as well.

Im interested to see how things shake out over the next year. I have about 18 months worth of oil changes for each vehicle maybe more. But if things haven’t settled some in the Perl plant and if price hasn’t come down, I’ll swap to esp from ultra platinum once my stock depletes. I’m worried...

I have about 18-24 month supply right now. I know oil is supposed to be good for 5 years but I do worry about additives falling out kf suspension. I do shake the bottles once a month or every chance I remember but I’m leery of buying more right now.

No we know the factory oil grade is not put in engines with anticipation of shearing down, at least in the us, as it’s more of a selection for max fuel economy

With recent pricing now at Walmart Ultra platinum 39.97 Esp 31.97 Valvoline Restore and Protect is 35.97 I think the clear winner now is esp. 8 bucks a jug cheaper than ultra platinum is not insignificant imo. Is it a huge deal? Probably not. I mean probably add 40-50 bucks a year difference...

Just checked my Walmart and ultra platinum jumped to 39.97 from 29.97. Esp jumped from 27.97 to 31.97. If that price holds I’ll just stick to esp over the ultra platinum after I deplete some of my current stock. Valvoline Restore and Protect jumbled to 35.97
