What is your best MPG ever on a road trip?

I drove to CA and back on Interstate 40 visiting National Parks in my 2017 Mustang EcoBoost. I averaged 33.2mpg on regular. It has been a good car.

Old Meguiar's 3 step Clean, polish, wax. I have never found a replacement!

Pan the Organizer did a comparison test. Back in 1967-70 I rubbed the paint off the trunk of my 1962 Daytona. Past wax was hard as concrete back then.

How cold are your dash vents blowing and at what ambient temp.

I bought a used 1989 Toyota Supra Turbo in 1996. It had 90,000 miles on it. During the summer the black plastic top of the radiator split where it is crimped down. I pulled it out to have it serviced. I found leaves and pine needles between the condenser and radiator enough to affect the...

    Brutal heat and humidity lately

I mowed my yard today and at was 103 degrees in AR. I am 75 yrs old. It was 106 yesterday. I remember riding in August 1978 from Wichita to OKC (and back) on my 1977 Yamaha SX750. It was 104 degrees. Coming back from OKC whenever I stopped my boot stuck to the asphalt. Boy she sure got a sunburn...

    Brutal heat and humidity lately

It is the "DeepS." controlling the media's narrative. No one was talking about heat index in 2011 when Little Rock hit 114 degrees on the thermometer. We are a bunch of pussies now-a-days and cannot take the heat. Military uniforms used to be made of Wool. I'm a Kansas Farm Boy. No one had AC...

    I miss bench seats.

My 1962 Studebaker Daytona had buckets with a center console that was level with the seats. The passenger seat reclined. Many memories in that car. Then my 1964 Daytona, both seats reclined. Studebaker had some interesting options.

New bike. 10w40. / chain lube

The Drive chain is an O-ring" or X-ring. Cleaning after riding in the rain is important, then a light lube. I've got a collection through the years. The small cans are for traveling. A centerstand is a must for chain lubing on a trip.

New LG 75” tv much heavier than old 75”

Speaking of heavy CRT TV. I had a 20" color TV in my basement back in the 1990's. Then "The Incredible Universe" came to Denver. They put the 32" Sony on sale as a grand opening deal for $750. It was a "gut buster" 150lbs. A buddy helped me carry it downstairs and it just fit where the 20" sat...

    current state of computer market

I had 2 Lenevo's laptops, 4 years apart, that both dropped "V", "S", "5" keys making passwords difficult. Someone said it was a "motherboard" issue. Look at Dell refurbished laptops...

Parents need cooling - trying to talk them out of getting a portable A/C

I got my "restored" Midea U-shaped Inverter AC through Walmart for $249-free shipping last month. It is a 12,000BTU. I made it a permanent install. It is quiet and it gets cold. Says it uses $65 worth of electricity per year. It came with a 1 year warranty. I had a Della standup AC unit in the...

Can I delete 50 gigs from my D partition, & merge it to my C partition?

I got an external harddrive to keep my photos/music/docs. The first was 1TB. I unplugged it so many times the laptop did not recognize it. I could not get a new cord, so I got another; it is 2TB-WD Passport HHD. When Windows 10 came out Microsoft wanted me to do a backup every 30 days or so...

    Improving Memory

I am 75 years old. My memory and forgetfulness have been sliding for 15 years.. Without my parents' photo albums I really cannot remember my teenage years. The last 32 yrs of my career I was a Class A CDL driver. My last driving job was at night (2010-14). I struggled with the new LED lights...

I made an insurance policy spreadsheet

Speaking about the "Frog" slowly boiling in a pot of warm-hot water; I lived in Colorado. A talkshow host was speaking about an insurance company-Sentry Ins out of WI. If you did not have a claim on your auto in 5 years, 50% discount. They sent a check for no claims; I would endorse it and...

Do people park backwards in parking spaces where you live?

I lived in a Condo in the Denver Metro area in 1983 and it was illegal to back in. A fine-HOA Rules. Reasoning was it put exhaust fumes against the buildings. People have their windows open in the summertime (no ac then).

energy usage calculation for home cooling

I moved to Arkansas in 2017. (Close to the 1992 World Record Brown Trout) My ranch home is 1900 sqft and built 1993. The builder used 2x6 walls with R19 insulation, R30 blown installation in the attic. Peak-vent roof. Brick house with a crawlspace. I met the son of the builder and he said that...
