Schaeffer's said they quit using the GC-LB designation on all their products. The gentleman I spoke with could not confirm 3% moly content but he had a 70 Dodge Charger. It's going into my 68 Plymouth Barracuda. Said it would be fine.

Just the way I read a comment regarding Schaeffer's. Understood it to be 5% moly. Glad to be incorrect. Do plan on contacting them to confirm but also tube does not indicate GC-LB.

Not that I'm glad to see it happened to someone else but does make me feel better. Would have never thought it. Confirmed the 5% but going with it. Too many choices and decisions. Thanks for commenting. Jeff

So if what I'm reading is correct, moly in grease and wheel bearing application is ok but has it's limits for others.

Started bleeding shortly after hub and tire installation completed. Was too late to drive. Wetted my rotors and thus the brake pads. Sure It's possible to mix it by driving but would not be safe. Even after grease is replaced, car will not be driven that much so need a grease that will stay...

Have no issue with Valvoline grease. Good stuff. Whatever I replace the Mobil 1 with, it will not be lithium based.

New hub seals. Have another set on order. Spindle surface was good. Have new steering knuckles if it comes down to that.

This was Mobil 1 tub grease as well that was installed. No indication it was separating.
