    Leaking spindle seals

Schaeffer's said they quit using the GC-LB designation on all their products. The gentleman I spoke with could not confirm 3% moly content but he had a 70 Dodge Charger. It's going into my 68 Plymouth Barracuda. Said it would be fine.

    Leaking spindle seals

Just the way I read a comment regarding Schaeffer's. Understood it to be 5% moly. Glad to be incorrect. Do plan on contacting them to confirm but also tube does not indicate GC-LB.

    Leaking spindle seals

Not that I'm glad to see it happened to someone else but does make me feel better. Would have never thought it. Confirmed the 5% but going with it. Too many choices and decisions. Thanks for commenting. Jeff

So if what I'm reading is correct, moly in grease and wheel bearing application is ok but has it's limits for others.

    Leaking spindle seals

Started bleeding shortly after hub and tire installation completed. Was too late to drive. Wetted my rotors and thus the brake pads. Sure It's possible to mix it by driving but would not be safe. Even after grease is replaced, car will not be driven that much so need a grease that will stay...

Is there an issue using Schaeffer's 274 in Texas hot environment?

    Leaking spindle seals

Granted I am probably guilty of filling grease cavity up more than 30%. Even so, car has been sitting since front hubs were completed and leaked ever since so regardless of how much grease is in hub, why would it bleed out unless there is a problem with the product. Seals are new with...

Have no issue with Valvoline grease. Good stuff. Whatever I replace the Mobil 1 with, it will not be lithium based.

    Leaking spindle seals

New hub seals. Have another set on order. Spindle surface was good. Have new steering knuckles if it comes down to that.

    Leaking spindle seals

This was Mobil 1 tub grease as well that was installed. No indication it was separating.

    Leaking spindle seals

Car is a 1968 Barracuda undergoing a restoration. Factory service manual is out of date when it comes to choosing the correct grease. Types of grease has come a long way so I have learned. You are correct. The rotors need to come off so seal replacement again is a necessity as well a...

    Leaking spindle seals

Grease seals were replaced. This is a 68 Barracuda going through a restoration. All components are new or restored. Is Schaeffer's grease adequate for wheel bearing application? Thanks for responding to my post.

    Leaking spindle seals

Am experiencing oil leaking past rotor to spindle seal. Used Mobil 1 synthetic grease to lubricate bearings. Noticed how this oil tends to separate out of grease. Understand this is called bleeding. Now have oil running past seal down rotor and accumulating on inside wheel rim. Was this the...
