My new 2026 Toyota Tacoma SR5

Had a 70s manual transmission that was like that… Once it warmed up it was fine.

My new 2026 Toyota Tacoma SR5

None at all....how refreshing!! I suppose Toyota engineers weighed the benefits vs detractors on a DI/turbo engine. Pushbutton start, though?

    Thoughts on plastic replacement parts?

Sounds like mx is under control. Ran into someone *again* indicates texting or inattention of some sort. Maybe some more driving education or lessons?

What is your best MPG ever on a road trip?

Back in the 80s I had a 1977 Plymouth Volare station wagon…4-on-the-floor (OD) and 225 Leaning tower of power from a 1974 Plymouth that had been wrecked. I reliably got 22.5 miles per gallon on the highway at 65+. Interestingly, when the MPG dropped below 20 it was time to adjust the valves on...

My new 2026 Toyota Tacoma SR5

Yea, exactly. Since GW. has an automatic transmission and spoke about the transfer case specifically, that is what I was referring to. I don't know why you thought I was talking about manual transmission fluid 🤷

My new 2026 Toyota Tacoma SR5

Of course! As I said earlier I was in a conference all day and just got back to the hotel. Here's the memo (not my email): So as I said, according to Toyota, 75w90 is ok to use. I can't see any value whatsoever in paying $75 per quart for the unicorn tears.

We've got those on both the FJ and Jeep...can back up that review.

My new 2026 Toyota Tacoma SR5

Toyota put out a memo (or answered an emailed question?) saying that the 75W was for fuel economy, and that 75W90 can be used. At a conference right now, will try and locate the letter this evening. FWIW I've got 75W90 in the FJ and it shifts like buttah.

Lost my loyal buddy of 15+ years

Well said. Our furry friends leave us too soon - but on the other hand, they don't often have to suffer when we go.

Performs like SQ. Doesn't meet it though, since likely has too much of one ingredient or another....

Wind deflector placement on 2019 Pilot for small enclosed trailer.

Ha ha, @Marcozi beat me to it... I believe 6th gear is a 1:1 ratio in your Pilot, so that makes sense for a NA V6. I'd lock it in and let 'er eat. That said, towing does increase drag. Maybe something like this would help? https://www.nosecone.com/cargo-travel-trailer-models

Toyota 4 Runner shockingly disappointing rental experience

Toyota 4 Runner shockingly disappointing rental experience

Toyota...have changed. Too bad. The 4R used to be a shining example of what a truck based SUV should be; somewhere around 2019 they started to transition away. Time will tell on the reliability and durability of the new model and turbo4; agree with putting in at least a 30 grade oil. For...
