Post your Gas Mileage : Calculated

yeah, i fill at Exxon or Sunoco and neither display “Top Tier” stickers either. both are 7-11 type stations with soda//beer/snacks inside so maybe the manager is not sufficiently motivated to add them to the pump. or are they not actually buying top tier fuel? who actually tests the fuel to confirm?

did my shop just say they do not want my business?

this is what i have decided. it was only a little better than written on a napkin. really unprofessional. thanks to everyone. as i said, i do have another indy shop with a good rep to approach.

did my shop just say they do not want my business?

well i do not have a printed estimate! she just wrote it out on a note pad. i had to try to memorize everything…maybe it was only the condenser? i went back trying to itemize almost $300 in additional parts. ugh. im exhausted. my truck has spent 11 of its 13 years here in SC so not a rustbucket...

did my shop just say they do not want my business?

thank you. no, not blowing cold. they charged the system to check if the compressor came on. they said it did not. they recovered the “refrigerant” but did not charge me the $269. maybe it was my veteran plate. idk. so they did me a “solid” so that is why i keep returning. i was guessing *4*...

did my shop just say they do not want my business?

probably. locally, the Denso part #4711607 varies between $650 from OReilly to $800 at NAPA. BUT why install a part of lower quality only to have to spend another $1K plus in three years. $1900 vs $2300 is not a huge jump at this level of spending, imo.

did my shop just say they do not want my business?

i was not expecting $1900 total. but i do recall the $269 fee, last year, for charging the system to check if the compressor was at fault. four hours of labor is probably true, right? i may have to sweat out another summer in Charleston.

did my shop just say they do not want my business?

“we have had good luck with Four Seasons….” i did not press. i took it as a “no” (edit) the OEM part lasted ten years in Carolina heat, so i have confidence in those parts. or is this wishful thinking in 2026. Four Seasons had a 24 month warranty, but labor and recharging the a/c is wicked...

did my shop just say they do not want my business?

UPDATE: so i got my oil change and the service woman had an estimate for me. it was written on a notebook, not on an estimate sheet from the computer with part numbers and prices. i do not think she/they are serious about this potential repair. anyway, this is what i could memorize, roughly...

did my shop just say they do not want my business?

ok, thank you all who weighed in. it IS a busy shop. i stopped this afternoon to ask for an oil change tomorrow morning. i reminded her about my a/c, that she never called me back. she will have the quote for me tomorrow. we shall see! (edit for typo)

did my shop just say they do not want my business?

i have been using this shop for 28 months, they did a complete brake job 3/24, been getting oil change every six months, new battery in Feb 2026. i went in first week April to schedule oil change and to repair my A/C which they said needed a new A/C kit a year ago. i said i wanted an OEM GM...

    Sumitomo Encounter AT All Weather

there is only one tire dealer near me that sells Sumitomos. a set of two for my rear tires will only be $100 less than Michelin Agilis. for that diff i might go for the Michelins. i had Michelins on my 3500 cargo van in an earlier life. ; )

    Sumitomo Encounter AT All Weather

hi all. new subscriber here. this interested me bc i need new rears for my Sierra 3500HD pickup. i wanted Toyo hiway tread, around $650 installed. but the Goodyear Wranglers i bought in 2019 are dry rotted (cracked) on sidewalls bc of the hi heat in South Carolina. i only drive 5k miles per year...
