    Quaker State 5W-40 Euro gone?

The Euro Lx 0w30 said made in Germany on the back, same with Motormaster euro 0w30. They're the same oil, shell helix ultra. Not sure about the 5w30, but if it too is not made in America, maybe that has something to do with it, tariffs? There was a huge stack of Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w40...

0w20 or 0w30 for Turbo Charged GDI Engines?

Any modern engines blow up using 30 or even 40? From the last big data set on tmog, 20's fine until they fall out of grade (fuel dilution, time), then wear metals go way up. With a higher grade, you have more of a safety net. A lot of 0w30's, especially the euro specs, are made very well now...

    Quaker State 5W-40 Euro gone?

Can't find Quaker State Euro at Canadian Tire, or Walmart.ca anymore. So I'm assuming it's not in Canada anymore. PP/Euro is still fully stocked everywhere, no label change. Dont think it would make sense for ONLY the Ultimate line to switch base oil's now. The 'Full Synthetic' words are...

    VOA Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0W-40

Looking at the SDS, 2025-06-23, it has something that is not shown in regular Platinum products CAS 28777-98-2 (longchainfuran)-dihydro-3(octadecenyl)furan-2,5dione (ODSA) Octadecenyl Succinic Anhydride From simple search it's supposed to be an ashless detergent, friction modifier. Working...

Bimmerpost says no to 0w40 but not here?

Flush/Rinse. I was one of those idiots who used too much old castrol 5w40, in the Audi 3.0T. Pcv didn't last long. Thinking a better oil with lower noack would've helped. It's hard to learn 'why' to do things the right way, when there's so much noise. Just thinking about passing more oil...

Bimmerpost says no to 0w40 but not here?

Doesn't Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w40 have the lowest noack? I don't know about the States, but Walmart Canada has Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w40 on sale for $35, plus the $20 rebate when you buy two....that's cheaper than supertech and kirkland atm. Maybe they're clearing stock for api sq? Mobil...

Gas has gone up 30+%, why hasn’t automotive Oil?

I heard the main reason for the price rising is the extra insurance the shippers have to pay now, triple or more insurance rates. Gas prices were a lot lower today than last week. If the strait was shut closed then it should be A LOT worse.

Gas has gone up 30+%, why hasn’t automotive Oil?

Is the strait closed shut? Refineries would backlogged and need to shut off the wells, causing a real global meltdown, but that hasn't happened. Asian oil market has their oil barrels priced way higher than ours. Squeezing chinese oil shipments would be a good geo-political move. Trade oil for...

MotoMaster 5w40 = Pennzoil Platinum Euro?

Only other VOA was a youtube video from a few years ago, they had moly/boron at 69/69, so I was unsure. It doesn't come in the golden oe-plus bottling, like the made in Germany 0w30 (Helix/Ultra?). Still 'made with shell technology', same approvals, same order, as the pennzoil label. Bottle...

Pennzoil Platinum Euro or Pennzoil Ultra Platinum tuned VW

Maybe i'm reading this wrong. The choice of champion oil blender, is irrelevant? Do you not trust him? Think he's paid off? Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w40 isn't even on the shelves anymore in Canada, maybe there's a reason for it, just looking for answers.

Pennzoil Platinum Euro or Pennzoil Ultra Platinum tuned VW

That data sheet for shell helix ultra is from 2013, pretty sure the formula, and specs, fluxuate since. Pennzoil Platinum Euro doesn't have that -57 pour point anymore. Always check the revision date. The Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w40 oil looks good on paper, loaded with more moly than...

Supertech Euro 5w40 In Ford EcoBoost?

mobil 1 0w40 is on sale now at crappy tire for $37.99, plus a few dollars off with their rewards points. $4 off purchase over $40 so grab a filter while you're at it, remember to activate those offers on the app. Sometimes walmart has Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w40 on sale for $34.99, year round...

    Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 0W40 10k Km (6.2k mi); 489k Km (303.7k mi) Honda Civic 1.8 R18A2

Sorry, any fuel dilution? I'm trying my best to translate german to english. My nephew just bought the same car, but only 160km, hopefully no one rolled by the odometer. There don't seem to be much difference between this and the north american version. You seem very thorough, from what you...

5w-40 Battle: Pennzoil Euro vs Redline Euro

I remember that test, between motul and ppe, its was the reason I started using PPE. In the test, it showed Pennzoil Platinum Euro not shear at all after 5000mi. The cst posted was 13, and the motul 13.3 which is the same as their VOAs. Different labs aren't comparable to eachother, but how did...

Is Mobil 1 0w-40 too thin?

No not Blackstone, oil analyzers. Up to 3% at 5500km. 2.3% after 6500km a little top up from oil consumption, which is needed now unfortunately. The only evidence I can give to shear, is the engine makes a lot of power, heat, and is driven hard on occasion. Im under the assumption that will...

Is Mobil 1 0w-40 too thin?

What oil doesn't shear down a grade? My Audi S5 took motul 8100 xcess (sn) from 14.2 to 12.5cst in 5500km. (with a little fuel dilution) According to the website, Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 0w40 starts at 13.8cst now. Castrol 13.5. Motul 13.5. PPE/QS at 13.0 These are the SP formulas. Mobil...

    Q: About today's Mobil 1 0W-40 line up

Those labs come short on viscosity all the time. Mobil 1 website shows 13.2. A lot of other 5w40's are 13.5-13 now anyways.

    Valvoline European Vehicle 0w40 SDS

No esters that I could see, are there esters in the X4? They come in many names, hard to remember them all, but i'll have a used oil analysis later in the year, not driving as much as before. Can't find a single other voa/uoa on it. But the engine is running smooth and strong, can't complain.

    Valvoline 0w-40 "European Vehicle"

Yeah, I agree. little variations are to be expected in these tests. Over a couple of tests, the iron has a tight average. Would bearing, wear, valvetrain, and timing components show other metals? Like aluminum, copper, tin? It's the fuel dilution I keep an eye on. 2-3% from 3500-6000km, i'd...
