2018 VW VR6 with fluid leaks?

Front crankshaft oil seal I would say, if I remember right you take the sump off during the repair anyway. It’s been a while since I did a VR6 one though. You could clean it and see how long it takes to come back as the dealer will start a diss report, add pics of what it looks like when it...

You can check if they are flowing correctly using a jug of water, park the car on a level surface open the sunroof step on the door opening sill and look into the sunroof hole. You will see the sliding mechanism and in each corner are the holes for the drains. You may not be able to see the...

    A whopping repair/service for 2013 Audi A6

Now this I can totally agree with and apply it to any vehicle you are going to buy. Any brand can have a total Mellon of a model.

Why no high mileage oils in Europe other than Valvoline?

I think looking at how people maintain there cars in the UK answers the question. People don’t do their own oil changes on cars under 10 years old. They take it to a dealer or independent/ fast fit to get done. They don’t know or care what oil is going into it they just go back when the...

    A whopping repair/service for 2013 Audi A6

I’ve worked on BMW MERCEDES and VAG professionally and I can guarantee you Mercedes go wrong more often with more expensive bills. Yes I like Audi, they look after customers better than any other German brand, cars drive great, get class leading fuel economy and infotainment systems that dont...

    Porsche Cayenne -Blower motor ?

This and also I know what main dealer techs are like, no one wants to put their name to a repair that’s has none gen parts on it.

    Porsche Cayenne -Blower motor ?

I would expect the main dealer to want to replace the blower motor either as part of Diag or to guarantee the repair

    Porsche Cayenne -Blower motor ?

It’s not unheard of for vag resistor packs to fail, what I would call a hedgehog because of its cooling spikes. But I don’t want to advise you to put more guess money into it. Might be worth pricing a oem part up and consider your options based on cost.

    A whopping repair/service for 2013 Audi A6

Did they send a video of the work needed? Should have done as this is a brand standard in the UK. Carnt say I’ve ever had to change a valve cover gasket on one of these for leaking. I bet it’s just got a bit of a damp patch that needs cleaning off every 30k miles. The cam faser covers at the...

    Porsche Cayenne -Blower motor ?

Do you still have the original blower motor? Does this work intermittently like the replacement does? You need to see if you can find a pattern to what’s going on. Really you need a correct wiring diagram to test the system when the fault is happening

    A whopping repair/service for 2013 Audi A6

I think this car needs a second opinion. Get it to a Indy and pay less labour for what actually needs doing. FYI these engines usually still run with a high pressure pump failure. People are saying about these being complicated but that engine is one of the easiest to work on. No reason why any...

If you start the engine and switch it off 5 times in a row does it still start up fine or has it started to struggle or not start?

    Porsche Cayenne -Blower motor ?

Ah I was thinking it was a earlier car. Dunno why when it says 2014 in the first post. Must be someone who works at VW around that can get the wiring diagram

Hyundai / Kia 2.4L Theta ll success stories ?

They certainly are not stepping up and fixing vehicles in the uk. I wouldn’t buy one as genuine parts are expensive and aftermarket are poor quality. I10 lower suspension arm from the main dealer £350 aftermarket £70 but not quite the same size so camber is now out of spec. No thanks not for...

    Jaguar Diesel 2.0L

In that case then just be aware that some of the 2.0 diesel ingenium had balance shift noise issues that requires engine out to rectify. Certainly on the Land Rover models that used it this was a issue.
