Mach-E front motor dead at 33.5K

You mentioned the motor has always whined. Does the new one whine too?

Poor A/C performance when car is hot inside

Aren’t these vehicles part of Honda extended warranty on AC issues? Swear I’ve read about that here recently from another user. I would not suggest messing with the system at all first. I’d take it to the dealer and pay their $200 diag fee. If it’s under warranty you will not have to pay anything.

Project Farm tests Walmart and O'Reilly batteries

I would buy based on factors like convenience, price, warranty, availability, etc. for a typical vehicle any brand of battery that meets the spec will be fine. If the car takes a group 48 AGM battery put in a group 48 AGM from any store that fits your need and move on. Now if you have specific...

In-N-Out shooting in Twin Falls, Idaho

The definition of unfortunate literally includes unlucky and/or regrettable. It is truly unfortunate that the shooter caused injury and/or death to innocent people that were simply trying to charge their Tesla or eat a burger. It is unfortunate that we have people in our society that harm...

    New laptop

You used to be able to get an acceptable laptop for $400. Those times have changed. Computers are literally double the price they were two years ago. Keep that in mind… And an i3 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is not a “wonderful” laptop. I am glad it works for you but… you get what you...

    New laptop

$3-400 new stuff is pretty much all trash. If you’re moving to a windows system don’t buy anything with less than 16GB of RAM. Go used… Ensure it has an NVMe SSD and is new enough to officially support windows 11. If you don’t care too much about the quality of screen (the base option screens...

    The dirty side of Goodwill

I don't donate to anything. It's almost all a scam in some way. I have dropped off used (or new) clothes that were in good condition but didn't fit me. It's just convenient. I don't care what they do with it. I occasionally shop at Goodwill just to see if there is anything good. But 90% of the...

Is BITOG an oil site or a car site

If it was just about oil the only threads would be should I use 5w-30 or 10w-30 in my 700,000 mile 1998 Chevy Tahoe?

I can't work on my cars anymore.

I think the problem at this point is less paying for it (it is what it is, everything is expensive now) but the fact that no matter how much you pay, there's quite a high chance they are going to do poor quality work and/or mess something else up in the process of fixing the original thing.

    Jersey Mike's Subs Stock JMKE

OMG yes their chips and drink are absurd. I noticed at the local JM while waiting for my order… almost nobody gets them. While when I used to go to Subway I think at least 50% of people did chips and/or drink. Has anyone tried Subway cookies recently? I remember them being yummy.

    Which modem?

some of those are just routers not modems. What is your ISP? What is your internet speed plan? How large of a property? What are your performance needs?

Home A/C unit died-- by design.

Well ours is already installed and I paid zero so it’s firmly in the not my problem camp BUT I do appreciate the information and more knowledge is always better. I’m slightly miffed they didn’t give us a smart thermostat. I asked for that and even offered to buy the one I wanted. Oh well.

    Fun With Dexter Axles/Brakes

Nothing more infuriating than stuff that’s in stock taking longer than same or next day to get shipped out! What was the price difference between steel and aluminum?

Home A/C unit died-- by design.

I mean isn’t 20 years a decent lifespan for such an item? Technology improves. Newer units are quieter and more efficient. They just put a new system in the house we rent. Apparently it cost $40K. Thats for everything - before there was no central anything… the master bedroom had a base board...
