    Lithium-Ion powered snow blower

I don't use snow blowers, but I do use battery powered yard maintenance tools for doing property maintenance for work. One thing to make it worth while is to buy into a whole battery system. If you use an EGO hedge trimmer, weed whacker, leaf blower, and mower, those batteries can then be used...

Where to find denso made in japan ac compressor

I know the topic is more about which part for which configuration for the market it was sold, but it's should be pointed out that when you buy a Denso genuine product, it doesn't matter much which country is was made in. Sometimes, the design will change to make it cheaper to produce (like...

1991 Toyota Previa - Can it be reliable?

I should also point out that the Previa is the last of the RWD mini vans. As much as I like my Sienna, FWD is terrible on such a heavy rig. We used to off-road our old Previa and it never got stuck. Also awesome in the snow with some weight in the back. Vastly more fun to drive in the snow in an...

Anyone here using full synthetic on an old 22RE Toyota engine? What's your OCI?

Yes, but it is with the poor design of the chain guides, which were 100% plastic and would break after too many hot-cold cycles and just general wear making them brittle. I had mine changed to metal-backed guides which should last much longer. My original ones lasted until 230K and were still...

Anyone here using full synthetic on an old 22RE Toyota engine? What's your OCI?

The point is that I don't have to find a place to change the oil as often. I'm fine with working on my vehicles, but changing the oil isn't something I take any pleasure in doing. Not as fun especially with no garage or proper driveway to use. If I extend the OCI with FS HM oil, I'm actually...

Anyone here using full synthetic on an old 22RE Toyota engine? What's your OCI?

One of the best things about the 22RE is that the gas pedal is a noise level adjustment and not so much a power output adjustment. LOL

Anyone here using full synthetic on an old 22RE Toyota engine? What's your OCI?

Honestly, I didn't know as much about valve adjustments until the last few years, at least in terms of stuff that requires taking the engine apart a bit. For all I know, they were adjusted at some point without me knowing or remembering. I had it in a shop in Seattle once for something that was...

1991 Toyota Previa - Can it be reliable?

I see those older vans ALL OVER the roads in my area. Mostly driven by people who don't care much about maintenance other than get the oil changes every 20k or put gas in the tank. They just keep chugging along like total 1990's Toyota champions. They are super reliable and worth fixing up as...

    5W-30 Shell Motor Oils Comparison

I wonder if I wasn't seeing the same thing with my PUP. Doesn't seem to be a popular oil around here, and in my experience, my engine didn't seem to like it too much. Is it the lower flash point and lower viscosity?

Anyone here using full synthetic on an old 22RE Toyota engine? What's your OCI?

Mine have never been adjusted, unless the mechanic happened to do it at some point without me realizing it. As they say, a noisy 22RE is a happy 22RE. Plus, even if I did want to adjust it now, it probably has pretty good pits worn at the adjuster screws that would make the feeler gauge not show...

Anyone here using full synthetic on an old 22RE Toyota engine? What's your OCI?

I don't know. The newer 4 bangers are just as good, if not a little more complex, but still go the long distance in reliability. The 22RE is also pretty dang slow and struggles with heavier vehicles. I'm the target of mucho road rage from aggro monster truck beef-monkeys who don't realize I'm...

Anyone here using full synthetic on an old 22RE Toyota engine? What's your OCI?

Isn't this NSFW engine porn? ;) Looks good! Much better than mine, as I probably ran it too long a few times on conventional which varnished it up a bit. I don't think these engines ever had any sludge issues though, even if not maintained perfectly.

Anyone here using full synthetic on an old 22RE Toyota engine? What's your OCI?

Good call. Although, it didn't use more than a couple ounces the last 4.5K oil change.

Anyone here using full synthetic on an old 22RE Toyota engine? What's your OCI?

My early 90's Toyota pickup has the 22RE 4 banger/shaker in it. Pushing up towards the 350K mile range right now and did 10w-30 conventional for 4K (roughly) OCI its whole life. Engine only had some varnish last time it was open and nothing else gummed up. I recently switched to a M1 HM 10w-40...

    Goodyear to buy Cooper

I have a set of Uniroyal Tiger Paw II tires on my pickup truck. Funny thing, they are some of the best tires I have ever had on any of my vehicles. Great traction and cornering along with little highway noise. Do decently in the snow as well, for the class of tire that is.

Is Valvoline still the best supplement for arm wrestling competitions?

I just realized this guy is probably pretty old by now. He should switch to a high mileage oil. It could help prevent leaks out of the rear main seal. ;)
