    Post your latest oil change

Just did another oil change for the S4. 55K Miles on the ODO, 5K Miles changed, Pennzoil Platinum Euro 0W-40, Mann oil filter. In and out the same. When draining, the oil still felt very lubricious. But gotta stay consistent for my mental sanity.

    oil for rarely used car

Ok. Ok sounds good. Good question. It isn't my vehicle, but my girlfriend's. She started working from home and it has barely been driven. Been trying to get her to let me drive it.

    oil for rarely used car

I was just about to ask this question. I have a new 2020 4Runner that's been sitting in the garage since COVID came around in March. I did the oil change in 6/20, Drove 200 miles between then and now, now it's seldom used maybe once a month since then. Should I look to change the oil due to...

    MityVac Fluid Evacuator - Awesome-sauce?

True, but argument is that the sediment will get caught by the filter. Now that's assuming the sediment does flow with the oil instead of staying in place while oil passes by it. As for the use, makes sense if all of your work can be done top side. Some vehicles require you to get on the ground...

why change oil on low mileage car consuming oil

Ouch. Must be that Jeep quality. Seeing how 1 quart is NOT deemed excessive every 2500 miles is crazy. How can you accept that?

What oil for supercharged Lotus Exige?

Any 5W-40 on the shelf today will meet those specs. Since you do weekend driving and tracking, totaling 1K miles a year, you'll be fine with any oil that is 0W/5W-40, really. Because you won't be shearing the oil hard enough in 1K miles anyway. Now if you were tracking and daily driving, it'll...

    Which oil to use?

Use whatever is most common and easy for you to get. I've always been a believer of being consistent in everything you do to maintain the results, no matter what it is.

    Is Liquimoly Overrated?

Liqui Moly has always had a cult following in the VW community. Same goes for Motul, as they both heavily advertise to the VW car communities. Nothing wrong with it, but doesn't make it any more superior than the other brands. It's basically more hip to use liquimoly in your VW car, which is...

    First Oil Change

Those that suggest the oil filter catching everything, do have a point. But the cynic in me will say, the oil filter will only catch the wear metals if the metals do travel with the oil to the filter by the pump, instead of staying suspended in the oil pan swishing and twirling around while oil...

    Current Jiffy Lube Pricing

Man, what's the cost for their oil whole sale? $100 for 5 quart change job, ~$20 oil, then a $10 filter, profit margins are pretty good. Especially if you opened your own franchise and only work it with 2-3 people in the family. But at that point, why not just open an independent shop?

9000k service intervals. Should I change filter have way thru?

You know we have issues when we nit pick over a $10 item that can be good for half a year or even a whole year lol. You spend $10 on dumber things in that time span.

9000k service intervals. Should I change filter have way thru?

I change mine every 5K miles and I don't even question it. Same engine as yours. I do it because I want to keep the car for as long as possible. Oil is cheap. The 3.0L TFSI supercharged is a great engine, strong and reliable. Take care of it, don't penny pinch. Oil and filter changes aren't hard...
