Put oregon round .130 gatorline in the spool and hit the tall stuff - (you see the line in the weeds in the back of the picture - up to 4ft).....could run 24" of that line without the guard on!!!!! This thing is insane now. Why didn't I do this sooner!

Well 2 tanks through it and: - drilled out the catalytic muffler straight away - about 80% of the exhaust port hole size openings, didn't gain as much as my 325LX did, maybe only 10% vs 25%-30% on the little one....but it was on the first tank of gas and didn't want to run it hot because was...

How to break in a Stihl Chainsaw

Not being dismissive or rude - but why on earth, would you run a 2-stroke engine on 100:1 mix? Even the EPA mandated manufacturers ratios are nothing of the sort. What does one 'gain' from 100:1 compared to even 50:1?

    High octane fuel?

2 stroke timing is changed via adjusting the squish and height of the transfer ports in the cylinder - and of course correspondingly moving the ignition coil pickup to match.

    What's in your grease gun???

You should be able to - I don't see why not.

Kawasaki Honda GX (Yamaha? - dont know that for a fact but expect them to be good - they're out now in some Zero Turn mowers).

    High octane fuel?

One thing to consider in 2-stoke mixes, is that the octane drops as oil is added. While a 32:1 or 28:1 may be best for power and longevity - the octane will drop even more than the 50:1 or the silly 100:1 mixes. I buy the highest, best quality NON-ETHANOL (top tier if available) 91 octane...

    20w50 for Hydrogear ZT 3100s

Mobil 1 15W-50 is 1200ppm phosphorous and 1300ppm zinc Mobil 1 20W-50 V-Twin is 1600ppm phosphorous and 1750ppm zinc normal car oils are generally under 1000ppm for both because of API limits, hence the motorcycle spec...

    20w50 for Hydrogear ZT 3100s

It's a little too thin - hydrogear specs 50 not 40.....you will have lower power. Also diesel oils are rarely 'full synthetic' (whatever that is these days) - so in theory they have a harder time with the overheated temps in hydros. Also forgot to mention - he does use Mobil 1 15W-50 on his...

    20w50 for Hydrogear ZT 3100s

Hydrogear used to come stock with Castrol GTX 20W-50. I saw a guy that sells and repairs all these hydros, and he said they all run hot and with too little oil for proper cooling, so the oil is really stressed. Also there is aluminum on steel and other cheap wear surfaces that dirty the oil...

Yea - Good Luck. Husqvarna sure makes this way too hard. just thought I'd mention - I was wrong it seems - the 535LST shows up on the Canadian webiste - no 535LS and...conversely the 535LS is on the USA website, no 535LST I don't even know anymore....hopefully the 535LST shows up as ordered etc...

No - my local dealer sucks - so I went 50minutes away to another authorized dealer - they said the 535LST was in stock at Husqvarna (wherever that is) and they are supposedly shipping it to them and I pay $13 for shipping....charged my card and send me proof of the order....hopefully they come...

I actually just did - got the 535LST on order and hope it will be as bulletproof as my 21 year old Husqvarna 325LX which has ran wide open for hundreds of hours with nothing but new fuel lines and a "gutted muffler and bigger exhaust port" - mod (about 20%-30% more power after adjusting carb)...

Buying used motor what to check?

If it works, mainly.....maintained those things run for thousands of hours in the worst conditions......I would look past the air filter, in the intake tube and see if ANY residue is present - and of course how it runs.
