My daughter has had a 2004 Xterra 2wd with the 3.3 and auto for about 2 years. It has been a very reliable vehicle. Mileage is poor, maybe about 18 hwy at best and it most certainly does drive like a truck. Overall, it's been a keeper.

Have them on my daughter's Nissan Cube. Reasonably quiet, good traction and did fine in rainy conditions.

I wondered the same after I bought my 2002 M5 a couple yrs ago. After reading every thread out there, plus the good results I've had with it in my Corvettes, I went with the RP Synchromax and have been quite pleased with the performance. YMMV!

Never really bought into the "get gold for the SHTF" scenario either. If things get that bad, gold will be a very expensive paperweight. I would think ammo, canned goods,etc. well before buying gold for that reason.

Having owned a 96 Prelude VTEC since new, I've tried many diff oils and would recommend either Maxlife or Redline. Good amounts of moly and reduced oil consumption.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I also would strongly prefer a manual, as the choices are greater but my daughter seems quite resistant to learning to drive one. Also, I'd almost certainly stick to a NA version as she doesn't want/need a "fast" car.
