    My classic Mustang won't start/run

Thank you all for the responses. I had thought of some of your suggestions and am glad to hear maybe I'm on the right track. To answer some of the questions raised in the thread: The car is a relatively recent restoration and almost all parts in question are at least "newish". It has a Pertronix...

    My classic Mustang won't start/run

I took my 69 Mach 1 Mustang for one of its periodic rides last Sunday. After 4-5 miles, while running at hwy speeds, the engine gradually lost power and died, necessitating a coast to the side of the hwy. Ended up towed back to my garage. Of note, essentially the same thing happened a few mos...

    Never leave a tool behind!

I put an aftermarket header on my Prelude VTEC several years ago. While I had everything apart, I figured I would take off the cat and clean/inspect it. Put everything back together and car ran fine, but had a strange rattle on acceleration. Nothing loose that I could find, but eventually took...

    Fibromyalgia

I believe I may be able to help with any questions you may have. I have treated more "fibromyalgia"(I'll abbreviate it as FMS) than I can recall over the last 20+ yrs. I've used traditional and alternative treatments. First of all, FMS is not a disease. There are no known diagnostic tests that...

06 Jeep Commander - decent? garbage?

I own a 2010 Hemi 4wd Commander. Apart from the horrible gas mileage (12-13 mpg, maybe 17 hwy), it has been a great vehicle. I wouldn't even consider a 2wd Jeep. What's the point? The 2006 Commanders were the first model year and likely will have more issues. The V6 is underpowered for a 5000...

Omega 3's linked to Prostate Cancer

I would not put much stock in this study. It was poorly done and really makes little sense for the results they are claiming. Always be skeptical of what the mainstream media picks up with regard to medical information. The preponderance of the evidence from many studies show the benefits of...

    Castrol Syntec 0w-40 A3/B4???

I'm curious whether this 0w40 has some other ingredients that aren't measured on a typical VOA. It looks very much like GC, which supposedly has the ketjenlube polymer in it. GC always has seemed to outperform its VOA, as well. Maybe once some UOAs start showing up on the 0w40, we'll see the...

    00-05 Xterra

My daughter has had a 2004 Xterra 2wd with the 3.3 and auto for about 2 years. It has been a very reliable vehicle. Mileage is poor, maybe about 18 hwy at best and it most certainly does drive like a truck. Overall, it's been a keeper.

Does anyone have the Kumho Ecsta 4X Tires

Have them on my daughter's Nissan Cube. Reasonably quiet, good traction and did fine in rainy conditions.

    Unicorn urine

I wondered the same after I bought my 2002 M5 a couple yrs ago. After reading every thread out there, plus the good results I've had with it in my Corvettes, I went with the RP Synchromax and have been quite pleased with the performance. YMMV!

Ouch...Tough Day To Own Gold !!

Never really bought into the "get gold for the SHTF" scenario either. If things get that bad, gold will be a very expensive paperweight. I would think ammo, canned goods, etc. well before buying gold for that reason.

Looking for input on GC in a Tahoe

I have a 2003 Tahoe with a 5.3 and have done several oil changes with GC. No issues. Ran smoothly, no noticeable change in mileage, no significant metal filings on drain plug. Didn't get a UOA. GC is still a fine quality oil, and while probably a tad thicker than what the 5.3 needs, I'm sure...

    Looking for info on Jet-skis

Do your research and ,as mentioned, even rent some to check them out. I believe Yamaha generally has the best reputation for reliability and least maintenance. Around here, essentially all the rental machines are Yamahas, and its not because they are the least expensive. I have 2 FX HOs, a 2007...

    oil for 98 Prelude

Having owned a 96 Prelude VTEC since new, I've tried many diff oils and would recommend either Maxlife or Redline. Good amounts of moly and reduced oil consumption.

    favorite aircraft

Always have loved planes, especially WW2 and newer, even tho I'm not a pilot. I'll vote for the P-38 Lightning, the "fork-tailed devil" and the tool of our top WW2 ace, Richard Bong!

    Mini cooper vs. VW beetle

Thanks for the responses everyone. I also would strongly prefer a manual, as the choices are greater but my daughter seems quite resistant to learning to drive one. Also, I'd almost certainly stick to a NA version as she doesn't want/need a "fast" car.

    Mini cooper vs. VW beetle

Thanks for replies so far. She has sat in and driven a mini and was fine with it. I've heard that the years to look at for minis are the 2005 and 2006s. Engine option those years was the S, supercharged. Really don't know much at all about the beetles, though I'd admit I've never been a VW fan...
