    Mobil 1 0w40 in Yaris?

Contemplating running Mobils 0-40 in Acura??

Run it if you like, it certainly won't hurt anything! You might 'suffer' a fuel economy loss of half-an-MPG (if that.) If you're worried about CAFE 'inspired' overly thin oil, look for an oil with an HTHS of at least 3.0, 3.5 if you 'want to be sure.' Any Xw-30 oil would qualify.

Please help me oil recommendations!! Supercharged

Bearing failures on a forced induction engine? Running more boost than stock? I'd suggest more HTHS to bump your Stribeck curve a few notches to the left. The idea is to remain on the hydrodynamic part of the curve as often as possible. All the additives in the world won't help if you your crank...

straight grade oil in summer heat okay?

If you already have it, go for it! But, as noted, I don't think it will be in any way superior, in price or performance, to whatever 1+ gallon container of Dino Oil happens to be on sale at Wally world. The slightly higher HTHS (vs xW-30) might cost you 0.2 MPG, if that. Looking 5 seconds...

Any benefit to a 5w30 in my application?

Moving your Stribeck curve a few units to the right will not - can not - hurt a thing. Living in Florida, the xW rating is pretty much irrelevant. Lower ratings may fractionally improve your MPG, or they may not, depending on the oil's actual visc/temp curve. (The xW rating guarantees only a...

    2005 Toyota Corolla, oil questions

The VR1 has about twice the phosphorus of the AFE, and so will be fractionally harder on your catalytic converter. This damage will be pretty minimal unless the car is burning lots of oil. The AFE will flow a bit better on those rare 10 degree mornings. VR1 at 10f is a bit thicker, but is still...

    1992 Honda Accord Oil

Yea, I suppose I'm 'capable,' but a minute or two every week, as part of a quick inspection, is a lot easier to justify than several hours or more tearing things apart. If I spent half an afternoon fixing the car's every niggle, I'd never have time to drive it. I suppose it comes down to the...
