Anything wrong with 2016-2019ish Subaru WRX?

    Look into the Cobb Accessport.

Anything wrong with 2016-2019ish Subaru WRX?

No. This is different. Some later-model cars with manual transmissions and drive-by-wire throttle have tuning/programming that artificially holds the throttle open when shifting, for emissions reduction. Apparently, when the throttle is slammed shut, as when a shift in a manual transmission...

    Coffee - Your Current Brew

Japan has some seriously incredible coffee culture, and specialty coffee shops. The Japanese are apparently ravenous consumers of excellent coffee. People on the coffee socials are posting some just crazy photos and stories about it. Hit one up while you're there, if able!

    Recently Got an Aeropress!

I’ve been a V60 guy for filter coffee on my days off for the last couple of years. Wanted to add a no-bypass brew method that would incorporate the ability to steep the coffee to get a different flavor profile to add some variety to my coffees. And I like the fact that the Aeropress combines 2...

    Coffee - Your Current Brew

Latest haul! An all-naturally-processed haul from S&W Coffee Roasting out of Coatesville, IN. These folks put out some great specialty-grade beans at a very fair price. Being coffee enthusiasts themselves, they're also very active and responsive on social media (u/Pourover on Reddit, for...

Anything wrong with 2016-2019ish Subaru WRX?

I had good luck with my 2016, but I bought new and only had it for 3 years and 39,000 miles, and I left it stock. But I did take it out to the mountains and beat on it a bit. Fun car. I liked it. I hated the rev hang. Brakes sucked. Only adequate for in-town use. Rotors would warp with any...

Mobil 1 ESP possibly using diblock polymer

My store (Dickson, TN) shows to have both in stock currently. I’ve been using the 0W-30 ESP in my Elantra N (and our Odyssey, in warmer months; in winter it’s been getting PP 5W-30).

    2024 Elantra N Coolant Top-Off - Aftermarket Pink/Red OK?

It’s manual. This has been my experience also. The vehicles I’ve had tend to lose a bit over time. Obv. I’ve only had this since July, and it’s new, but admittedly I don’t remember what the level was. I just happened to notice it was a bit low when changing the oil yesterday. It took 10 oz...

    2024 Elantra N Coolant Top-Off - Aftermarket Pink/Red OK?

I don’t have a UV light, but that’s a good idea. I put it at the minimum line (while cold) and will keep checking it. I don’t want to take it to the dealership unless it’s something unavoidable.

    2024 Elantra N Coolant Top-Off - Aftermarket Pink/Red OK?

Fair point, but I think I’ll top off and keep an eye on it, especially since I don’t remember where it was when I got it. If it drops again, I’ll be more concerned.

    2024 Elantra N Coolant Top-Off - Aftermarket Pink/Red OK?

It’s not too low, but it’s below the min. Every vehicle I’ve ever had lost a little bit over time. Frankly I don’t remember exactly where the level was when I got the car.

    2024 Elantra N Coolant Top-Off - Aftermarket Pink/Red OK?

Well well, look what I just found hiding out in the garage. Should be OK to top up the Hyundai with this also, right? It’s been sitting for a few years. I think I bought this in 2021.

    2024 Elantra N Coolant Top-Off - Aftermarket Pink/Red OK?

The pink coolant in the reservoir of the 2024 Elantra N “ultimate dad car” is a bit low. Seems the Peak Asian Vehicle Red/Pink P-OAT is the cheapest and most widely available, and Auto Zone carries the concentrate for $22.99. I already have some distilled water on hand, so it makes sense to...

Who wants to chat about 2025 Ford V6 3.5L "Ecoboost"?

But that post was about a 2020 model. That was over 5 years ago. Have the issues been fixed?

Zerex Asian Red vs. Toyota Long Life Red Coolant and mixing?

Good thread. I came across it during my search for the proper antifreeze/coolant for my 2024 Hyundai Elantra N, which has pink coolant. The owners manual calls for an “ethylene glycol with phosphate” coolant. As previously mentioned in this thread, Auto Zone sells the Peak brand “red/pink”...

    New Korean Air livery

I know the USA operates 747s for ELINT and may have been doing so back then also. I think that was the official Soviet line - they thought it was an American 747 conducting a spy mission. I’m curious if @Astro14 believes that or has any comment.

Drive to Deal's Gap (Tail of the Dragon - Highway 129) in East Tennessee Tomorrow (March 11, 2025)

Y’all have some great roads up in N. GA. also. I drug my knees on Richard B. Russell Highway. Wolf Pen Gap also.

Drive to Deal's Gap (Tail of the Dragon - Highway 129) in East Tennessee Tomorrow (March 11, 2025)

Haven't taken a road trip out to my favorite driving roads (East Tennessee/Western North Carolina) since getting my "ultimate dad car" (Elantra N) last summer. Used to love driving these roads in my 2016 Subaru WRX, and, before that, I rode these roads on my 2005 and 2007 Yamaha R1s for the...
