Thinking About Idemitsu TLS-LV for 2007 Tacoma V6 (Aisin A750E Automatic)

IDK, I haven’t had a problem going 100,000 miles on WS, and this Idemitsu fluid should theoretically be superior to WS.

Air India Flight AI171 (Boeing 787-8) Crash

There was a near-miss with an L1011 over 40 years ago in which a mechanic failed to install the o-rings on the chip detectors on all 3 engines when re-installing them, and the aircraft lost all 3 engines as a result, about 20 minutes after takeoff. They were able to get one of the engines...

MolaKule Q&A on Aircraft Structures VI WIngs

Higher velocity air over the control surfaces = more authority. More leverage. And, being at the end of the wing (a longer moment arm), it has more leverage and more control authority. At 500+ MPH cruising speeds, you don't need a lot of control authority from the ailerons in an airliner to...

Where’s the RAT on the 787?

Air India Flight AI171 (Boeing 787-8) Crash

242 souls on board, reportedly, and it’s also been reported that it crashed into a building. So there may be casualties on the ground. RIP In a video I saw, it appeared to fail to gain altitude, and possibly stall. First hull loss of a 787...

    Watched a documentary on OceanGate

That’s crazy because I had assumed he went composite due to cost. But you make a very good point about the weight.

Urban Legend from decades ago ... synthetic oil was "too slick" for engines

I used all of those back in the day in the ‘90s. Duralube, Slick 50, Prolong, and I think there was one more. Of course now we know that most are snake oils that dilute the add pack of a good oil, and any immediate benefit (chlorinated parrafins) doesn’t help, and may actually be detrimental...

    2023 BRZ (FA24); Redline 0W-40 vs Mobil 1 0W-40

No need for 20 grade in winter. If I wanted to go thinner in winter, I’d use something like PUP or VRP 5W-30

Thinking About Idemitsu TLS-LV for 2007 Tacoma V6 (Aisin A750E Automatic)

The Idemitsu still comes out a bit cheaper at about $9.68/qt shipped from Amazon including tax. ($43.99/jug before tax)

Thinking About Idemitsu TLS-LV for 2007 Tacoma V6 (Aisin A750E Automatic)

My transmission, the A750, takes WS, so the Idemitsu TLS-LV is the equivalent.

Thinking About Idemitsu TLS-LV for 2007 Tacoma V6 (Aisin A750E Automatic)

Looks like I’ll be ordering 3 jugs of Idemitsu TLS-LV. Thanks, guys. I will update on how it shifts. I do wonder if I should add some Lubegard additive to try and fix that shudder.

Thinking About Idemitsu TLS-LV for 2007 Tacoma V6 (Aisin A750E Automatic)

    Thanks; This is a 5-speed (that’s what the “5” in A750E designates).

Thinking About Idemitsu TLS-LV for 2007 Tacoma V6 (Aisin A750E Automatic)

Hey everybody, Our 2007 Tacoma PreRunner V6 TRD Off Road edition now has 302,000 miles, so it’s time to do a full transmission fluid swap again. I’ve done 2 previous full tranny fluid exchanges on this truck using the transmission cooler line method, both times using Toyota OEM ATF-WS fluid...

Flew on a brand new American 787-900

I remember reading about at least 1 UEF involving a DC-9 in which there were casualties.

    Mobil 1 "Advanced Clean" 5w-30

Yeah, we don’t know that other oil companies HAVEN’T analyzed VRP to determine its active ingredient(s). IMO, they’d be negligent NOT to do that.

    Photo Thread for Unusual Vehicles

Cool little car! I think the front grille is the only really bad angle. A friend’s mom had one back in the day. I’m 6’2” and I remember being impressed with the amount of leg room it had in the front passenger seat.
