    looking for a crusier

Kawasaki Vulcan S would be probably closest to an SV in a cruiser. It has the 650 twin from their normal motorcycles. My opinion: Cruisers generally suck. I would advise renting one and see for yourself before buying one. They are invariably equipped with garbage brakes, garbage suspension...

WD-40 to clean chain, can I?

I have always thought of WD40 as being pretty much just conveniently packaged kerosene, myself.

Which bike has most character - least vibration?

I rode a K1600GTL when they first came out and it was eerily smooth. I also rode a '12 or '13 Road Glide FLTRU and it was very smooth, if a bit dynamically compromised. Settled on an R1200RT, and I love it, but wouldn't consider it superlative in smoothness. I cannot speak to the T-bird or new...

Most economical JASO cert oil...40 or 50 wt

If Rotella is too rich for your blood, you may be better off selling the Rancher and buying a donkey or something. I haven't seen a JASO MA labeled oil that costs less, whether "self-certified" (never bothered me) or officially licensed and listed by JASO.

    Let's talk meatloaf

I've been known to chuck a meatloaf in my smoker while cooking other stuff. Use your favorite recipe, just cook it in the pit while you have it lit.

    Pierogis

I just buy the frozen ones, the old Mrs T never let me down . Related to unrelated discussion in the thread, I once posted what I thought was a good value in the rebates and sale forum. The sale was at BJ's Wholesale Club. The title was BJ's. Post was immediately deleted. Mod and I had a laugh...

calling on the experts. diesel oils in bikes??

Here is a link to the UOA on Rotella that I did on my F800S. There is a link in that post to a UOA on the same bike with Amsoil. Both of those UOAs had one trackday on them. For that bike, I see no reason to use anything other than Rotella. Maybe a pair of UOAs after race weekends on what you...

Learn to slip the clutch against the back brake. This will stabilize the motorcycle greatly and allow you to crawl through feet up full lock turns.

    Ford Fiesta opinions

We have had two Fiestas. A 2011 SE with the much hated DCT, and a 2014 ST with a normal manual transmission. From a vehicle dynamics perspective, the SE was a great little car that got great fuel economy. The automatic transmission never gave us any problems, and it worked fine. I think that...

    New K1600B

I test rode a K1600GTL when they were fairly new to market. Dealer had a sweet deal on their demo model.Fantastic engine, fantastic platform, but a little too Buck Rogers/George Jetson for me. Never thought that an engine would be TOO smooth. I ended up liking the R1200RT better. NB: the...

Best sound deadening material for trunk

For deadening, I really like knukonceptz kno knoise kolossus edition: http://www.knukonceptz.com/mobile-audio/sound-deadening/kno-knoise-kolossus-edition/ Really good stuff. Much better than Hushmat Ultra that I have used. Deadener will help with resonance, but for actually blocking the sound...
