How do low micron filters such as a fram ultra or a wix or amsoil flow compared to a cheaper filter like ac delco or microguard? Would synthetic media really flow better than paper?
I am putting a used engine in my truck that has been disassembled and cleaned with all new gaskets. Should i do an early oil change? If so what mileage? Using pup, it is a 6.0 gas.
I have a ac delco ultraguard gold upf44 that has a dot of extra glue on the core. What are the odds of the glue breaking off and causing harm? Should i run it?
For the same price i would have the amsoil. 5w30 is plenty thick if you wont be racing every day. 10w30 is a option but not in your weather it sounds like. I run pennzoil ultra platinum 10w30 in my lm7.
I scored a few taro micron filters cheap for a 4l60e deep pan. How do these compare to a wix or any other filter i can buy in a store? Has anybody had experience with these? I am wanting to sell 1 or 2 if anybody is interested i can upload a ebay link.
They really should have a drain plug and a spin on filter. I have one of the silverados that the pan wont drop without removing the front drive shaft and y pipe and linkage bracket.

I have a 2004 silverado with the 8.6 rear with a detroit truetrac diff. Eaton recommends dino oil with no additive. Currently using supertech 80w90. What is a good change interval on this oil? Would a 85w140 provide more protection? This is a daily that doesnt tow.
Shell products with pureplus technology is what is "called for" by chrysler now days. Havent heared anything about mopar filters but oem usually gets the job done.
I have my '04 silverado 5.3 filled with pennzoil ultra platinum. I do 70% hw driving and 20% city and the other 10% is wot pulls. Is a 5-6k interval too short for this oil? The olm usually zeros at about 6500-7000. I also do not trust the olm system because every oil is different and formulas...
