    BMW Oil Temperature Question

. No matter if it's an Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Mini, Porsche or VW. I typically see 205 - 220°F during winter and 220 - 230°F during summer for both coolant and oil. 88°C/190°C? Common for shorter trips, but quite odd for longer distances. 88°C lead to shorter trips, maybe for 10 min for the...

    850cca flooded vs 750cca AGM?

. Exactly, yes and it also helps for weight distribution to some extent. My Mini's battery is sitting in its own dedicated compartment below the cowl, right in front of the windshield and seperated from its engine bay.

    850cca flooded vs 750cca AGM?

My Mini Cooper was built in July of 2012. It's factory AGM (70 Ah, 760 A CCA, Exide) is still fine. Yes, touch wood. Very most vehicle's alternators will easily charge an AGM, approximately 14.5 V while driving. The only disadvantages: AGM are more expensive and they don't like excessive...

Which oil in an old 2010 peugeot 207 VTi sport that burns like a litre of oil every 300 miles and smokes a bit?😆

. Honestly, I'd bet all contributors don't own a car with that EP6/N12/N16 engine or even have seen it on the flesh. Yes, when they age they burn oil. However, it's not the pistons and piston rings. It's the valve guides and the corresponding valve stem seals. "Piston soak"? It won't help, not...

Upgrading Battery - VW Jetta VII - Optima DH6 YELLOWTOP PUREFLOW from H5 EFB

. This battery is sitting in the engine compartment while BMW use to use AGM and use to place them in the trunk. No fluke, not at all. EFB is superior to AGM when it comes to this highish temp environment. It's not cheap, it's just appropriate for this application, if not better. .

Upgrading Battery - VW Jetta VII - Optima DH6 YELLOWTOP PUREFLOW from H5 EFB

. "Minimum" would be 44 Ah or so, not this 59 Ah und 640 A (CCA?). Bigger doesn't mean longer life. Even a 44 Ah would easily crank this tiny 1.4 TSI. I had VW batteries to last ~15 years in the past and my Mini's factory battery is 12 years old. Not sure if I'd consider this Optima as an actual...

VW Battery 7P0 915 105 Availability (Anyone work at a dealer?)

. My own Mini Cooper (MY 2013, built date 7.2012) has its first AGM battery. Again, my own GTI (MY 2018, built date 7.2017) still has its first EFB battery. My wife's former formerly owned a Golf TDI and its factory battery has been still ok after 14 years. My old Porsche 930 (911 turbo) is a...

    Mannol Legend 0w30 Legit?

I agree, but without PAO you don't need (expensive) POE as part of the base oil to reach an appropriate aniline point (seal compatibility). Some combination of group 2 and 3 will do the trick, but at a much lower cost. .

Either Ravenol changed the formulations (doubtful since just 27 ppm of Mo doesn't provide a the full gain) or someone topped up apparently. .

    UOA - 2024 VW Atlas 2.0T - 6k OCI

21 ppm Cu and 34 ppm Fe are entirely normal for the second OC during run-in, especially for an EA888 engine. I'd expect some single digit Cu number for your next UOA. Nothing to worry about if not excellent. Congrats to you. Hope this Atlas will serve you well. .

    OEM Joint Designed Tires

I wonder why my BMW/star marked PSS show low wear and noticeably low rolling resistance (I often push the car in my garage, also the car easily rolls on the slightest slope when I release the brake pedal). BMW ('efficient dynamics' 2007/2008) doesn't care about fuel economy? I would understand...
