    which 5w-30?

If there's no notable difference in price in Italy, then you seem you answered your own question. in America VMP is twice the price of ESP. Don't worry. Anything VW 504 00/507 00, BMW LL-04, MB 229.52/52 is suited for 15,000 km especially since EU Diesel fuel is by law ultra-low sulphur...

    which 5w-30?

    1. If at all I think no reason to lose sleep. M1 ESP remains great (above else for the price). 2. Stay with the correct approvals or at least with the most reputable approvals. 3. Ravenol VSW 0W-30 it's the thinner brother of VMP 5W-30. I bet VSW has thinner base oils and ~twice the amount of...

    which 5w-30?

That's what Ravenol used for RSP, REP, RUP, RCS etc. for years: Vanderbilt Vanlube W-324: https://www.vanderbiltchemicals.com/markets/petroleum-engine-oil-additives-tungsten-compounds...

    What LL01 to try next?

. PAO or not, I'd consider Ravenol REP or RUP. Mobil instead of "Mobile" btw.. .

    2014 BMW X3 Brake/Rotor Recommendation

Last year I purchased a set of OE BMW pads for my Mini and they're also Galfer stamped and Made in Italy. I've seen several Ate and OE VW pads with Galfer friction compounds (GA .....). Obviously fairly common. .

    Hub Centric Wheel Rings

. It depends. Some cars in the 60s and even early 70s lacked hubcentric wheels, say aircooled VWs and Porsche 356 on rear at least. Agreed. I admit I prefer hubcentric OE wheels without rings. In the past I owned several aftermarket wheels (many of them were BBS sold as Volkswagen 'Driver...

    Choosing correct viscosity for BMW M5 w/ S63TU 4.4L V8

Thanks for sharing. But . . . . . why the hell do Ravenol REP, RUP and RSP come with BMW LL-04, LL-01 and MB 229.51 or MB 229.5? They have to fullfill the mentioned requirements. A clear contradiction appearantly. Because marketing manager? :p . .

    Choosing correct viscosity for BMW M5 w/ S63TU 4.4L V8

Guess you refer to this R8 LMS manual I posted some time before: Similar, though RS3 LMS: That said, an oil temp of 105°C (OP) is no reason to write home about. I'd keep everything like before. (VMP is great oil, see above, same with REP and RUP, they all come with BMW LL-04)

I think 15w-40 in my jeep was a mistake

My exact same experience. Back in 2017 at roughly 400 km I used Shell Helix Ultra Professional AV-L 0W-30 (= Pennzoil Platinum Euro LX) and swapped it at roughly 1000 km with Ravenol RUP 5W-40. KV100 11.9 vs 14.3, HTHS 3.5 vs 3.9 - yes, it`s noticeable. Sluggishness is a hard word, but I feel it. .

FER5100 GG = Ferodo made, probably similar or same like Ferodo`s own Premier Eco Friction, which again is a true OE compound. (y) .

    Non VW Certified Oils

Not a bug but a feature. VW intended to run near 108°C whenever possible. Some of the benefits are lower drag (hot will led to thinner oil), reduced oil dillution (for best possible lubrication and less wear), improved heating during winter. When you'll rarely (if not never) see 115°C or...

    Non VW Certified Oils

Your 1.4 TSI does not suffer from LSPI. Not sure about Cyprus, but VW 504 00 oils are generally easily available and fairly cheap in particular across Europe. There's no single reason to use (costly) boutique oils. You didn't provide a reason at least. That said, 0W doesn't make sense in...

    Why not a 10w20 or 15w30?

Or some 5W-50 maybe. But is 5W-50 actually an option to you? Many if not most 5W-30 are much more stable if not stout, probably since the span is much smaller, perhaps as many 5W-30 must meet approvals, while common 5W-50 don't need to. Lots of 5W-30 with 3.5 mPas and above available. Redline...
