I just wanted one from Walmart since I’ll be headed there. I know not to buy the orange Frams. I do 5k mi OCI’s on this car which is driven short distances quite a bit.

I can’t find anymore 4386 filters at my local Walmart. I only see the smaller 4967 filter. Has anyone here used a bigger alternative in this specific car?

Yea I see all the advertised 20k mile intervals. Of course I would never do that, but even within my short OCI’s would those protect any better for the minimal $2 difference?

I see just about every oil brand at Walmart carrying “Advanced” or “Extended Performance” nowadays. The price differences are very minimal. Now I don’t let any of my cars go beyond 5k mile OCI’s or once a year OCI’s for the rarely driven cars. Can someone school me a bit on these new “Advanced”...

They’re definitely up there in price. I see some really nice Foxes going for more than even the latest Mustang body styles.

I figure it can’t hurt anything. Just a little added time sliding them on/off lol. If they use magnets on drain plugs and tranny pans, so why not. I see alot of videos where they did actually catch stuff. And they’re dirt cheap/reusable too!

I do have the GoldPlug drain plug on majority of the cars as well 😂

I bought some pretty strong magnets cheap on Amazon. I put 6 of them on. Think this is overkill? I figure it couldn’t hurt right?

It might thread in the same length of the original drain plug, but it’ll sit in the same spot permanently. So I wonder if it stick up a bit from the bottom of the pan so there might be some oil left compared to removing the plug

That’s what’s holding me back on the valve type. Exactly how far does it thread into the oil pan? Might be some build up around it or worse doesn’t completely drain everything like removing the plug
