    Scratches from Auto car wash

our touch free car washes around here do such a poor job of removing all the dirt that towel drying after would guarantee just grinding in the fine dirt layer that remains! The cars look ok from a distance after a tf car wash...but if you look closely you can usually see enough of a thin dirt...

    Polish scrape from fender?

Chris Fixx has a good youtube video on removing paint transfer from a car...Magic Eraser using WD 40(?) as a lube...followed by a polish...something like that....I used the recipe a few years ago when someone scuffed me in a parking lot and it worked perfectly.

Mower Only Runs Well On Choke (Lopey Idle)

clean, clean and reclean the carb until it runs well..sometimes it takes a few tries to get it right. Others may suggest saving the trouble and buying a cheap replacement carb..

Does anyone else prefer a smaller snowblower?

    Starting after 22+ months.

gizzsdad...I also live in Iowa and had te same issue...only ran my 6 yr old Ariens 24 at the start and end of last season, didn't use it to blow any snow. Put canned fuel in it in Dec, siphoned it out and ran it dry in March. Started up easy last month but ran like [censored]...after...

Ever washed your car in the rain?

Sure..have done it a few times..neighbors look at me like I’m nuts...still use the hose to wet and rinse it but rain doesn’t hurt anything...and the rain is a lot softer than my tap water

Thoughts on portable air tank 5 gallon for tires

bike pump is my choice for adding a couple psi....much quicker and easier on the ears than plugging in the cheap and noisy porter cable pancake compressor

How to brine my turkey before smoking it?

we brine our turkeys using a dry rub salt mixture rubbed all over the bird. The bird stays in a big plastic bag in the fridge for about 2 or 3 days prior to cooking....very juicy turkeys

    1997 Honda Elite 80 scooter

You don't need to use more expensive motorcycle oil in a scooter..there is no wet clutch to be concerned with. As someone else said, a scooter motor is like a lawnmower engine! ( assuming single cylinder, 4 stroke, air cooled)

Leased a new Civic with a maintenance plan

dude, it's a Leased car...change the oil twice a year and you're good! My company's leased vehicles for our outside sales people run 3 years and 100K miles with nothing but oil changes and the occasional air filter and wiper blade change. If you're not planning on buying it yourself at the end...

Do you fog OPE for storage ? What do you use?

yep, fog the lawnmower, trimmer and snowblowers...have some no name can of fogging oil...seems to have lasted for a number of years, now. Is it necessary?..probably not...do I still do it?..yes.

    Hour Meters - Best ones?

I've got 2 of the Hardline tach/ hour meters, going on 5 years now, battery still working. Not a bad value for $25....I know this doesn't answer your question..but you may already be using a good hour meter.

    Are Kymco scooters decent

as the others have said, Kymco is the real deal..quality Taiwanese manufacturer...great scoots, dumb names. Check it out for yourself at the kymcoforum.com. I've had a People S200 (163cc) for about 2 years...solid, reliable, fast and has local dealer support for parts and service (but hasn't...

    RF-1200 VS Shark Speed R Series 2

started with a cheap LS2 Stream, moved up to the Shoei RF-1200 and love it. Can't comment on the others but you can't go wrong with the Shoei..as long as you're an intermediate oval, like you said.

which self-propelled system do YOU prefer?

Personal pace..starting season 12 with the mower...mow 40-45 hrs per year and it's been flawlless. Very easy to use. Plan on replacing with Super Recycler w/ Honda motor...someday...but current Toro has been a great value for the $380 it cost back in '06.

    Gave Up On Snow

Yeah, what happened to snowy winters? 2 stage Ariens hasn't been used in 2 years and has 9.9 hrs on it after 5 seasons...little single stage Toro was used twice this season for a total of about 1 hr. At this rate these snowblowers will last a lifetime.
