I checked the 2017 manual and for the 1500 with 5.7L it no longer shows 5W-30 can be used. Still shows it can be used for the 3.6L and the 2500/3500, presumably because they dont have MDS. Anecdotal evidence says 5W-30 works perfectly fine even with MDS. I tend to agree, I know oil...

Thanks guys. Ill look into that as an alternate product. Looks like it would apply the same way as the Corrosion Free stuff I just applied, so no big deal. How long are you getting before re-application is necessary? Or do you just do it once a year regardless?

What are you guys using to apply the Cortec? And how did you prep the surface coming from a different product?
