    2016 Shelby GT350R, 5.2L 5.7K, 1.4K on Motorcraft 5W50

I suspect that the aluminum spike I saw last time was from 5 track sessions at COTA in 100F+ temperatures. I probably should have changed the oil right after, but moved across the country and didn't have the space or tools. I ultimately ended up doing another ~1500 miles on the track oil...

Hey gurus, I'd love your input on the UOA above. It took almost a year to rack up those 2083 miles. Shortly after the last change the change the Shelby saw 5 ~25 minute sessions at Circuit of the Americas where the ambient temperature peaked at over 100F.

    2015 BMW 328d, 5000 miles, Dealer Fill

So BITOG crew, this doesn't look too good. This is my new 2015 BMW 328d. The car sat unsold for a year but the dealer did change the oil (I have the records) shortly before I bought it. For good measure I replaced the engine air filter. Thoughts?

Volvo RBS0-2AE spec not available in the USA

We just bought a new Volvo XC90 T6 with Volvo's Drive-E 2.0 4-cylinder turbo/supercharged engine. So far, the engine is a gem. Even Ward's thinks so and has added it to the is year's top-10 list. The issue of oil for the Drive-E seems a specific problem in the USA. The USA-spec user manual...

Opinions wanted: used family car options for $15K

Hey all, My family has decided to get rid of the Porsche and the Lexus and replace both with a highly reliable and utilitarian family car. I want something I don't have to think about save for routine maintenance. We need something bigger than our current Jetta SportWagen and are considering...

Thanks to all for the replies! I think I'm good, but given the failures of VW Common Rail HPFSs even under nominal situations I remain a bit paranoid. Doing a bit of math: The Jetta has a 14.7 gallon tank - 1 gallon of D2 - 12.9 gallons of D2 - 0.25 gallons of B100 = 0.55 gallons of "other"...
