New Mobil 1(108-A) made in Vietnam C&P

Glenda, I have a filter cutter that I got from Amazon based on reviews. It looks very nice but I was not really able to cut very well with it. Do you have any advice or tips on using the cutting tools to make them cut better and cleaner?

New source for premium guard filters CHEAP

I believe the OE Honda filters are Fram at the moment as well. Absolutely nothing special about them at all. Same for most OE filters, as you know they just get produced by the lowest bidder. They were made by Honeywell for quite a time and I think they were probably the best they ever were...

New source for premium guard filters CHEAP

I have really only recently begun doing a deep dive into the filters. For years I just used OEM Honda filters, Wix, and aftermarket Denso filters - just because those are the brands I have always trusted and used. Turns out you don't know what you don't know. None of the filters I have used...

New source for premium guard filters CHEAP

Based on your posts from what I have been reading today in my searching, I ordered one of these Pentius filters and also a Service Pro E4620 (7317 size also). Not even going to use the Fram Endurance I had for my next oil change, sent it back to Walmart for a refund. Thanks for your C&P posts.

Is the fram endurance the new ultra?

I am pretty certain that the Microgram Select is the filter of choice from O'Reilly. What would be the filter to buy from AAP?

List of oil filters with 99% efficiency at 20 microns.

I am new to learning about filters beyond the basics. How does a filter have leakage of unfiltered oil and where in the filter does it occur?

So just stick with EP HM?

    Mobil 1 success

Something I have been throwing around, but I didn't want to start a new thread about. I have a '12 Honda CR-V with the K24 @ almost 280K miles. The next goal is 500K miles and I am trying to go as far as I can with the mileage. I am soon changing out M1 EP 0W20 for EP HM 5W30. After that, is...

2014 TSX K24 + HPL Euro 5W30 = safe for 10K mile OCI right off the bat?

I know quite a lot about this and have been working with a company in Canada that makes the replacement springs for the actuators. It's a deep rabbit hole, with multiple causes and fixes that can end up being one or any combination of them. I have even seen the rattle end up being a timing...

    M1 FS 5w30 Euro (SL) - 2006 Accord 2.4L | 8,000 mi OCI - 280,000 mi total

I am curious to try the M1 FS 0W40 in my K24. For whatever reason I seem to think that I have gleaned that it is a darling here and that the running joke is the answer to the question 'What oil should I use' is almost always FS 0W40 by M1. I have been running on M1 EP 0W20 as my winter fill...

HPL 0W30 Premium Plus UOA 6,013 miles 2022 Camry 2.5

Is Castrol making anything today that still stands out among other brands? I know about the acclaim of GC and Magnatec.

I needed to see this, as I have always been of the belief that Moly is Moly.

    M1 FS 5w30 Euro (SL) - 2006 Accord 2.4L | 8,000 mi OCI - 280,000 mi total

Would you be hesitant to use a 40 wt such as M1 0W40 in a K24 engine that is run in a relatively moderate climate (Summer <95f)?

I don't stress about oil brand or grade

Right, I get that. I was just trying to clarify that the protection element in ESP doesn't mostly or strictly apply to Euro cars - if there are differences between them and other makes that would make M1 ESP a less than ideal choice.

I don't stress about oil brand or grade

Not burning any oil that I can see as smoke out of the tailpipe. On 0W20 I probably use 1 quart in 5000 miles. I would say that it's not bad at all for a Honda 2.4 with 278K miles, given their reputation for being oil burners.

I don't stress about oil brand or grade

You don't see any issues with it being a Euro oil in a non-Euro engine, in the way of the catalytic converter or anything like that, do you?

What vehicles would you not use ESP in, for those considering switching to ESP?

Restore and Protect; How does it clean?

That's why I suggest playing it safe and changing the filter halfway through the 5K miles each time.

Restore and Protect; How does it clean?

For what they cost anyway, I wouldn't waste them on VRP for 5K miles. I would just use cheap filters - like O'Reilly Microgard - and change them twice @ 2,500 per fill.

2001 Cadillac Northstar and Valvoline Restore and Protect

I wonder where Hondabond RTV stands with oils made with mostly ester or oils with significant percentages of ester.
