How important is it to match-up bypass relief valve psi spec to OEM oil filter?

I use those HiFlo filters on my three Moto Guzzi motorbikes. No issues.

    Purolator oil filter problem

. Here's the common Yamaha oil filter boss. . . . . Like has already been said, the center of the oil filter end-cap bottoms-out on that nut - before fully engaging the gasket and is an issue with automotive filters, not motorcycle-specific filters. Most all of the automotive filters got the...

95 Polaris Magnum, what trans oil + Other service?

Ya'all do realize that a 75W-90 gear oil is roughly equivalent viscosity to a 40 grade motor oil, right ? But I agree with the ATF idea. Not nearly as stinky as gear lube, and the chaincase does not require high-tech lubrication.

Kawasaki Versys 650 -Amsoil 10W-40 SyntheticMetric

Those little Kawasaki Versys 650 motors turn a lot of RPM's, but they will sing all day long. I've taken mine on many 2,000+ mile trips..... and I change the oil at 2.5 because of the short oil capacity. The best thing is that they are like a mule. They'll haul a lot of stuff.... with the LARGE...

Kohler 52-050-02 oil filiter cross reference

We always just found a filter at WalMart that closely resembled the filter on the mower and screwed it on. Did we just get lucky all these years ? One of our riding mowers is 20+ years old and doesn't burn any oil (yet) ???

    Bosch SteelTech - Say what?

Old thread..... but I got one of these filters yesterday - ST3323. What is "Steel Technology" ??? I can't find it anywhere. It's not even mentioned on the Bosch web site. Google comes up with a big, fat zero. It's slightly smaller than the one I removed. ???

    has anyone gone "Gold Wing"?

We've owned a 2005 and a 2013 Road King. Combined 100K+ miles. Really liked them both - but the suspension SUCKED, big time. Way too mushy. Both bikes wallered in the turns and a lot of front-end dive when applying the front brake. Still, we liked our Road Kings. They say that the 2017 bikes...

    has anyone gone "Gold Wing"?

All these posts and not a single picture of a Gold Wing? . 1st of all, I hate my Gold Wing. And I hated the one before that. And the one before that. They all belonged to my wife - I'm just the pilot. OK, maybe not hate. Maybe I would simply like to ride solo. Never had a problem with any of...

    Mortgage payoff experiences

Pay off the mortgage. You can crunch the numbers all you want - but having less debt is a good idea. Look at it this way - THE MORTGAGE COMPANY thinks that your loan is a good investment......... and I certainly would be happy to get that kind of (virtually guaranteed) interest.

why do so many people have broken mowers?

I see fuel in the oil for mowers with gravity feed fuel systems. This dramatically shortens engine life. You can install a fuel shutoff valve - but nobody will use it. Otherwise, it's old fuel. Some of our stuff is more than 20 years old. We've had ethanol-laced fuel in this area for 25+...

    Rotella T5 at 6595 miles

Report looks good. I agree on not using the 5W-40 Rotella (or any other 5w-40) in a shared sump bike, without adjusting to more frequent oil change intervals. Might be OK for a Gold Wing. I really like the 15W-40 Rotella and use it in all our motorcycles and two tractors. :-)

A thumbs up for Fluid Film

I discovered that stuff more than 20 years ago. Use it mainly on boat stuff. Works great on a Q-tip to hit those little hex bolts on motorcycles that are prone to corrosion.
